When I was younger I unfortunately only got to visit with my Uncle a few times. Every memory deserves to be shared, however, for his fishing community:
Uncle Frank took me out Fishing with Ian and Sean for pickerell. He had informed the twins that I shouldn't be handing the spikey fish, as it was my first time and I was a girl, and younger (I think maybe 11/12) etc. I didn't know that I was also in the middle of a fishing contest. He had them each remove my fish and bait it each time so he would come out on top. Which he did!
During that same trip to Red Lake, I am not sure how/why but I was put under the charge of Ian and Sean for the most part. One day, I assisted in the 'grooming' of their family dog. Me and one of the boys tackled the task, haphazardly. The poor thing was a patchy mess with long tufts here and there and bald spots in others. I didn't think Uncle Frank would ever stop laughing, and any time the poor dog came around the corner, he would start laughing again.
I will miss his laughter and mischevious nature the most. I appreciated that he was a wonderful 'big' brother to my Mom, and always watched out for, and over her.
