CARLY EMERALD JOYCE GUNDERSON
October 4, 1982 – February 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carly Emerald Joyce Gunderson who sadly left us on February 8, 2025, at the age of 42. Carly was born on October 4, 1982, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Carly leaves behind many loved ones who will deeply mourn her loss including her devoted husband of 20 years, Matthew; her beloved daughter, Ava; her father, William; her sister Jen; and numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and family members.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Margret and William L. Loreth; and John and Joyce Thomson; as well as her mother, Heather; her mother-in-law, Wanda; pets, Kody and Katy; and many more cherished family members.
Carly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the movies with her sister, bowling with her husband, and gathering for family dinners at her parents’ home. She also took great joy in spending time with the tenants in her block as well as camping and visiting the cabin with her loved ones. One of her favourite pastimes was collecting autographs from her favourite stars – a passion that brought her excitement and joy.
Carly will be remembered for her kindness, love, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
I would like to thank St. B. hospital for everything they tried to do to help Carly, and I would like to thank Ethical Death Care for their service.
A funeral service will be held from 10:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 700 London Street in Winnipeg, MB.
Carly’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Carly's passing.
I was a neighbour and a friend of hers. As children we grew up on the same street and would often play after school and on weekends.
Carly was a very kindhearted person and I know she will be missed by many people.
My condolences to Bill, Jennifer, Matthew, Family and Friends.

I remember a bunch of us sitting around, having a couple drinks, (HA!! A COUPLE!!), playing cards, I would do something really goofy, you'd almost pee yourself. Oh, WAIT, I think you did a time or two. 😝 You were taken way too soon. I still can't comprehend or understand, and probably never will. Miss ya. 😢
