KRISTINA LOUISE HARRISON

January 22, 1961 - January 6, 2024

Peacefully, on January 6th 2024, Kristina Harrison passed away at home in her sleep.

Born on January 22nd 1961 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Kristina and her family moved to Winnipeg while she was in her teens. After Highschool, she worked in numerous clerical and reception positions before ultimately finding her career path in aiding families and those less fortunate.

Kristina, or “Dede” to those closest to her, spent much of her free time reading in parks and cemeteries, working on Jigsaw puzzles, and enjoying the company of her friends and family. Kristina loved her children and adored her grandchildren. Every moment spent with them meant the world to her and to them. Whether it be taking them for sleepovers, teaching them how to cook or simply watching tv together, Kristina was happiest when she was surrounded by her grandkids. They will always remember her junk food nights, food fights, and purses full of candy.

Kristina is survived by her mother Faith, brother Ken, sisters Kim and Kathy, sons Micheal (Lee) and Christopher (Mireille), daughter Serenity (Matt), and grandchildren Dante, Logan, Liam, Juliette, and Owen.

Kristina touched the lives of so many and will be remembered for her fun, caring and giving nature.

We love you and will miss you dearly.

I'm sorry to hear this.  I remember Dede as a sweet and kind girl, and I'm sure she was a lovely mother and grandmother.  I'm sorry for this loss, especially for her grandchildren, who sound like they were a real joy for her.

So sad to see this. Watching the video brought back memories of a kind and special person who was a bright light in a difficult part of my childhood.

"She is gone" by David Harkins

You can shed tears that she is gone

Or you can smile because she has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember her and only that she is gone

Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Hoping DeDe's family remembers and finds comfort in their many happy memories with her.
