AIMÉE GAYLE MARIE HARTLEY

It is with extreme sadness and broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Aimée Gayle Marie Hartley on August 21, 2021. We lost a precious daughter, sister, girlfriend, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

Aimée Hartley was born to Lois (Berthelette) and Blake Hartley on January 24, 1995 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Aimée passed away at the young age of 26. She leaves to mourn her mother Lois Hartley, mémère Gloria Hartley, siblings Justin Berthelette and Leanne Hartley, boyfriend Alejandro De Paz, and fur baby Zeus as well as numerous family and friends. Aimée was predeceased by her father Blake Hartley, maternal grandparents Bernice and Charlie Berthelette, paternal grandfather Norman Hartley, and aunt Michele Hartley.

Aimée loved her nephew Khy as if he was her own and had a special bond with him. When spending time with Khy, she loved to spoil him with candy, often filling him with sugar and happiness. Fond memories of Aimée and Khy include her amazing snuggles during countless sleepovers, trips to the beach, the bomb ass hair cuts she gave, and the presents she enjoyed wrapping, placing extra care in making the gifts fancy for him to open. He will miss her dearly.

We will always remember Aimée’s distinctive laugh, her kindness and devotion to her family, the way she was always genuine, and taking part in family events and functions.

Aimée’s childhood memories included attending the Sparks program through the Girl Guides of Canada, participating in dance classes, and having a love for basketball in high school. She loved to sing, garden and plant grass in her yard. Her life accomplishments were graduating high school in 2013 and receiving her Hairstyling Certificate also in 2013 from Winnipeg Technical College. That wasn't enough for Aimée as she chose to further her education by completing a Bachelors of Economics degree in 2020 at the University of Winnipeg, receiving a twenty-five-thousand-dollar bursary for her achievements. Aimée took pride in her work and was very dedicated. Aimée worked at Tommy Guns as a Hair Stylist for seven years and her boss Arelene Wyryha had a significant influence on Aimée.

Aimée was always selfless and generous without wanting anything in return. Anyone who knew Aimée knew she was a people pleaser and always saw the good in people regardless of the opinions of others. Aimée’s life was short-lived, but she enjoyed travelling, spending time with family and her fur baby. She loved painting, going to the beach, taking long baths and cutting hair. She often found enjoyment participating in music events, yoga, cooking, cutting up vegetables, hitting up the farmers market, and going to Tim Hortons every day. Her signature drink of choice was always a small iced capp made with cream, with one espresso shot. She loved attending events, shows, and was always the life of the party. 

Aimée sparkled like a diamond, and her shine will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the good fortune to have known her. Cremation has taken place. To remember Aimée, a private service will be held.
