LOUISE MARIE THERESE HILLHOUSE

(née TELLIER)

October 4,1942 – September 21, 2023

On September 21,2023, our mother went to take her place in heaven with her Heavenly Father. She was surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters at the time she passed.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lisa (Steve) and Patti and her beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Tamara (Jordan), Julian, Liam, and great-grandsons, Luca and Frankie, as well as siblings, in-laws and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and multiple siblings.

Mom was born in Winnipeg at St. Boniface Hospital and her early years were at the family farm in Haywood, Manitoba.  She was the 9th child of Malvina and Alfred Tellier in a family of 11 children. She had many fond memories growing up and loved any opportunity to reminisce and talk about growing up on the farm.  Her family moved to Winnipeg when she was 14 where she finished her schooling.  She married Henry Krahn in 1964 and had her daughters, Lisa and Patti.

Mom worked various jobs over the years and ended her career at the Canadian Grain Commission. She was an avid sports fan, watching the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers but her favorite was always figure skating.  She played and coached softball with her girls and was our biggest fan in everything we did.  Mom loved music, history, and family genealogy, especially learning along with her older brother, Louis, where her family originated.   She also loved to sew and made many of our clothes as children.

Mom’s biggest joy was her family.  She loved nothing more than to be involved with anything her children or grandchildren were doing.  It did not matter what, if we loved it, so did she.  She loved us wholeheartedly and was always our biggest supporter.  She was always so proud of us all. The littlest things made her happy and she appreciated the smallest of God’s creation, simple flowers, the beauty of nature, sweet memories, babies and of course, family. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved and always enjoyed connecting with.

Her later years were not easy as she suffered much pain and her health made it hard to travel and see her family in Georgia and Halifax, but she would still push through and make visits happen.  She endured a lot of physical pain but would not let it stop her, although she did slow down particularly in her last few years here with us. Her faith in God was unwavering and Jesus Christ is her Lord and Savior.  We take comfort in knowing mom is no longer in pain and no more suffering but has graduated to live in eternity with Him and we will be reunited with her again one day.

In Accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of our mom’s life will take place at a later date.

Dear Lisa, Patti your families and your Mom's Brothers and Sisters... I just found out the very sad news of my Dear Aunt Louise❤Aunt Louise was so special to me...when I was young and visited Winnipeg with my parents and one time with my Mom I got to spend a lot of time with her and my cousins Lisa and Patty.  It was always a good time and Aunt Louise would always make me feel special.  She would call me her "little Jo Jo".  I have so many memories of you Lisa...Patty was very young.  You took me to the outside swimming pool and your Mom had made us a little lunch.  I'm very saddened about this news...RIP Aunt Louise...You will be missed!   My thoughts are with the family...
