THOMAS JOHN HOPE

October 15, 1965 –July 11, 2020

Thomas John Hope passed away in the Saint Boniface Hospital on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 4:50 a.m., while in the presence of his three daughters, Nicole, Jessica, and Maggie as well as his loving wife, Sherry.

Tom has been battling stage-four lung cancer which was diagnosed over two years ago. He had every kind of treatment available. He fought bravely and never gave up. Unfortunately, the treatments and the unconditional love and support from his family and friends were not enough and he lost his battle.

Tom leaves behind his wife Sherry Hope, and his six children Nicole (32), Jessica (29), Zachary (22), Maggie (17), Austin (10) and Bailey (5). He also leaves his five brothers Dan (Susan), Allan (Harriet), Ron (Sherri), Glenn (Tammy), Ken (Julie), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends.

Tom had an amazing work ethic, he worked extremely hard at any task he was given and he could build a house from the ground up. Tom continued to work until he was physically unable to do so including the last few weeks of his life.

He had many hobbies and interests, specifically taking great pride in building and bettering his home. He loved traveling, especially long road trips with his crazy family loaded into the back of whatever beat up van was running at the time. Tom also had a great passion for architecture, he loved staring at old bridges and buildings to see if they were structurally sound. In his free time, Tom enjoyed days at the lake as well as wandering the aisles of Home Depot in search of his next big project. Tom often ended his days with good music and backyard bonfires.

Tom had a great love of life, hard work, and family. He truly had a zest for life and enjoyed every minute of it! He always had a smile on his face and was a joy to be around. Tom was loved by anyone and everyone he ever came in to contact with; everyone truly loved Tom.

The family family would like to encourage all of his friends and relatives to share their personal stories, photos, and memories of Tom by making use of the comment section on this page, all are greatly appreciated! The family would like to apologize to all of their amazing friends and family who cannot attend his celebration of life ceremony due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since I was young I remember Tom being part of the family. He was always friendly and smiling.  His longish curly orange hair was a classic feature never to be forgotten as well.  You are missed, Tom. Your cousin-in-law, Mike

Tom was an amazing man and incredible Dad. I remember once at a birthday party with over 30 young kids, they convinced him to try and hula hoop. The kids teased him and giggled and Tom never gave up. He was making them happy and that was all that mattered. What a wonderful guy, always putting a smile on people's faces. He will be sadly missed by so many. xoxo❤❤❤

He’s been in my life as long as I can remember. He was an awesome man and took great pride in his family and home and work. Lots of love being sent out to his family in their time of grief.  He will be remembered dearly.
