MARTHA ROSE HORVATH

April 5, 1947 - July 21, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Martha Rose Horvath.

Martha was born April 5, 1947 in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her husband Sandor (2021); mother Mary Jane Nepinak; and father Albert Nepinak. Martha was last survivor of a very close-knit family of 13.

She is survived by her children, Joseph (Jeannette), Leslie (Julie), Catherine (Joe), and Ann (Paul); her grandchildren, Kimberly (Jon), Joseph, Kayla (Chris), Kaitlyn (Mitchell), Anthony (Erin), Amanda, Kayla, Nisa, Samantha, Madison (Conan), Lucas, Naomi (Matthew), and Kelsey; also her great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Logan, Aiden, Ashton, Aaliyah, and Jaxsin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

After her marriage in 1966 she moved to Winnipeg alongside her husband to raise their family. Once dad retired, they returned to Waterhen to start another chapter in theirs lives. Both mom and dad took pride in their home and enjoyed many family and friend gatherings. Both loved the outdoors, mom especially loved her flowers and birds. If she was not outside you can catch her reading a good book.

In 2016, Martha went to Hungry to meet her husband’s family she only heard about throughout their marriage. This was the first time meeting any of them and she was very nervous about the trip. They spent a few months there and she was very happy she was able to experience everything dad spoke about for many years. She also enjoyed her other trips to Edmonton, Winnipeg and Dauphin. She loved board games, cards, dice, and times of laughter with friends and family.

Martha life centred on family and she leaves a legacy of unconditional love. She loved her children and took care of her grandchildren, leaving an enormous amount of memories. She also enjoyed her visits with auntie Marie, auntie Agnes and her overnight stays with Tracy.

The family would like to send a special thanks to auntie Marie for her acknowledgement and guidance through this difficult time. Also to auntie Agnes for the sacred fire and her long visits with mom. We would also like to thank Tracy for her overnight stays with mom and keeping her company. Kris for mom’s bird seeds and checking in on her from time to time. We also want to thank the Health Science Centre and nurses for their care and

love to our mother. A very special thank goes out to Carmelle for reading and preparing of the eulogy.

The family has lost a big part of our lives with the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister in-law and friend. Mom was especially close to Cathy and Joe for the past several years. Both of them spent a lot of time with mom and dad keeping them company and helping them with maintaining their yard. Cathy has been a big help to the family for supporting mom and dad throughout their health issues, and we thank you.

Mom is now with the angels and with the love of her life, dad. She will be sadly missed by all.

Till we meet again.

A celebration of Life will take place at 1:00pm on August 13, 2022 at the Waterhen Community Hall. We will celebrate the lives of both Mom & Dad on this day.
