Bernie will be lovingly remembered by his three children; Krista, Kevin (Laurelle), and Kerry and their Mother Diane; brothers Dollard, Jean-Claude and Leo and sisters Irene and Paulette; as well as many nieces and nephews. Grandpa will especially be missed by his 5 granddaughters; Natalie, Ashley, Renee, Emma Grace and Lilly. Bernie was well known for keeping an easy going life.  He enjoyed spending time at the lake in the summer, visiting family “out east”, traveling to Texas during his retirement and breakfast every weekend with his children and grandchildren.  He held two passions close to his heart, family and hockey.  Playing hockey as a young boy with his brothers, to coaching his sons hockey team, later to attend games and tournaments of his granddaughters hockey team and celebrating the return of the Winnipeg Jets.

After serving 21 years, Bernie was honourably discharged from the Canadian Armed Forces as a Sargent.  He then joined the Public Service Commission where he became very close friends with Florence Friesen, Vern MacLean, John Charest, Iris Ray, and Shirley Kocsis.

Bernie was predeceased by his parents Adelard and Retha (Cooke).

The family would like to thank the Grace Hospital for their loving care and compassion.
