A beautiful  man, with a beautiful  family❤

I am sorry to hear of  Hubert's passing.  I met Hubert in the early 1960s when the Assiniboine Park Zoo undertook a major landscaping job under the guidance of Gunter Schock, the City's  landscape architect. and Hubert and his men were responsible for creating the moated  deer enclosures with low fences for easy public viewing.  Some are still in existance starting from the Tropical House (Toukan ridge) going north to the Snow leopards enclosures.  The exceptional trees along the footpath were also planted at that time.  Other enclosures were remodelled such as Bison, Elk, Mule deer, Musk ox/Pelican pond, some of which are no longer there because of the new Polar Bear compound.  Hubert, rest in peace.  Rolf W.
