FERN ALARICE HUNT

(nĂŠe HESHKA)

January 11, 1952 - March 31,2024

It is with profound sadness and also jubilation that we announce the passing of Fern Hunt into the eternal arms of her Lord and and Saviour Jesus Christ, this past Easter Sunday.

Fern was born near Hyas, Saskatchewan January 11, 1952 and later moved to Foam Lake, Saskatchewan where she did most of her schooling. In 1970, she moved to Winnipeg, where she would soon after meet and marry the love of her life, Dale Hunt on October 16, 1971. They soon started a family which consisted of their three extraordinary boys, Travis, Waylon and Kyne. At the same time, they also started and grew many businesses, which kept the entire family busy. As the years went by, her faith in Christ grew and her family also grew to include daughters-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her most treasured role in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Dale, sons, Waylon (wife Iona, children Wyatt and Aiya), Kyne (wife Angie, children Ryden and Desten), daughter-in-law, Marisa (children Reighnbow and Noa, of her late eldest son, Travis Hunt) along with his other children, Skye, Shaylee, Devon, Jye and Brazyl. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren, her older sister Bev Fransishyn, younger brother Les Heshka (wife Michelle), nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that became family.

She left an indelible mark on all her knew her.

A church service, followed by a celebration of life, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th at Westwood Community Church (401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg Manitoba).

Donations (in lieu of flowers) can be made to the 3E Palliative Care unit, Riverview Health Care centre, where her end-of-life care was truly exceptional.  We thank everyone there who selflessly went above and beyond to comfort during this difficult time. Words cannot express our gratitude.

Fern’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Farewell to our very dear friend

FERN. We miss you so much already!

Fern , you were such a prayer warrior for our whole family and your prayers will be sorely missed by each one of us!

I/We will always remember with immense love and friendship, our church relationship which is where we first met and which included a multitude of activities together, our bible studies we sooo enjoyed with you, our fun times at Smitty’s and all the laughs we shared, those delicious leftovers that we very lwillingly accepted, the garage sales where we parted with our so-called treasures, the dry cleaners’ experience-making sure you got in your 10,000 steps, the long walks and talks and the tears we often shed together, our Grand Forks trips, our birthday lunches at Appleby’s, the jewelry repairs, the Christian conferences we attended together and the many many breakfasts, lunches and dinners we shared-blessings galore and so much more!

The thing we remember most about you Fern is the LOVE you had for our LORD and SAVIOUR and how it affected how you lived your life, always for HIM, always seeking to do the right thing-making the right decision or action to take that would honour HIM the most! After that love came the love of family whom you loved so fervently-nobody came between you and your LORD or you and your family…they were beyond precious to you!

Our deepest heartfelt condolences to the entire family as I know you will be sorely missed! Your life was so well-lived and you were so well- loved……a blessing to all who had the honor and privilege of knowing you and loving you!!!

♥️♥️🙏🙏

Condolence to my brother Dale and his family . Fern was such a religious and faithful person . She was so proud of her children,,daughter in-laws. she lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even though she was my sister in law I was privileged to be able to help look after her in her last months of living . She fought. a hard battle . I got to know her even better in those last months always worried about some one. RIP Fern until we meet again 💕💕

Blessings to you Dale and all of your family.  What a wonderful lady,  so quiet and seemingly shy but she was a lover of people for sure.  You and her boys ,  their wives and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were all so prescious to her.  Never did she have a negative word to say and was so proud to talk of youDale or any other of the family member.  .  I of course enjoyed enjoyed many Bible Studies with her and singing in the Church choir and laughing through our wonderful ‘Bunko’ evenings.  So many good memories.  You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Dale and his family. My late husband Marcel, and I, loved our outings with Fern and Dale. Fern was a generous and loving soul, strong in her faith, and committed to her family. Fern, rest easy now, and please give Marcel a hug for us.

I send heartfelt condolences to Dale and family. It was a joy to worship and sing in the choir with so faithful a believer. Fern's strong faith shone through troubles, trials and illness. I know God has said to her " well done good and faithful servant ".

May God bless and comfort you all.
