Nancy Inkster

NANCY LEE INKSTER
(née Malley)
November 22, 1944 – May 31, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nancy Lee Inkster (née Malley), who left us peacefully in Winnipeg on May 31, 2025, at the age of 80.
Nancy was born on November 22, 1944, in Winnipeg, MB. The third of four children. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg, growing up on Banning St. She attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, the same school her father attended and her oldest grandson. She worked very briefly at Jeannie’s Bakery, dropped a cake, and quit after only one day. She had a couple of short stints of work at both Easton’s and The Bay seasonally. Then, a short time later, in a typewriter ribbon factory.
She was married to Colin Inkster from 1965 to 2017. Moved to Burnaby & Port Coquitlam from 1965 to 1973, then it was back to Winnipeg.
They raised 3 sons and ran a successful small business together for over 30 years. Nancy played a huge role in the business, handling the administrative tasks, the books, and making sure lunch was always ready, usually Campbell's soup and grilled cheese, Nancy style (burnt on at least one side).
Nancy has enjoyed many things throughout the years, such as gardening, ceramics, which she was very talented at painting, redecorating, and BINGO. Mom loved BINGO! Almost as much as she loved driving her car and shopping. In the 1980s, she bred and showed Sheltie dogs. We are pretty sure she did it for the outing that followed to Shakey’s for sharing pitchers of beer and the Mojo’s. She cared deeply for all her dogs throughout the years, especially her little Maddie dog.
She was survived by her three sons, Bob, Jim (Claire), & Richard (Tara); and her grandchildren, Bryce, Hayden, Calum, & Eloise. Also, her siblings, Terry, Diane, & Coleen.
More than anything, Mom loved her family. She loved making people feel welcome in her home.
Cremation has taken place, and a service will take place at a later date.
Nancy’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Dear Colleen, Diane & Family, please accept my Heartfelt Condolences on Nancy's Passing. Growing up on Banning St. in the West End, alongside the Malleys, I treasure many Fond Memories.. One of which was our Falcon Lake Extravaganzas,, with Colin & Nancy, Colleen & several friends.. Nancy was always friendly & accommodating, and had a way of making me feel like part of the family!!!
May Gods Peace fill your Hearts!!

I always look back on my childhood with fondness and smile. This is due to great people like Nancy. The door was always open to the boys friends and we were always made to feel welcome. My thoughts are with her family and I will take time today to reflect on those times in my life.

Judy and I are so sorry to hear about Nancy's passing. we hadn't seen her or Colin in many years, but we do often think about those wonderful Fidays at Shakey's, later renamed Merk's. Now the truth is out. Yes, it was mainly about the draft and Mojos!

I will always miss my sister Nancy.. As the youngest of the Malley kid, Nancy had to drag me with her. She took me to movies, the Ex and many more places.. I'm sure I was always under foot.. Thank you for all that you did for me growing up.. Thank you for being in my life for 76 years.. I miss you so much. Love Colleen

I was happy to reunite with Nancy after many years and share some time with her. We got to meet for supper and spend time on phone calls to where she told me alot about my Lee Family.
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Family.
