LESLIE (JUDY) JUDITH JACK

August 31 1949 – December 12th 2022

With heavy hearts, we announce that our Mom Judy passed away on December 12th, 2022 at home surrounded by her children and siblings Laurie and Anne. She was a spirited lady and fought hard until the end.

Judy was predeceased by her husband Dave Jack, parents Lorenzo and Edna Arnason and sister Karin Cymbalisty and is survived by her children, Sandy (Lisa) Jason (Laura) Shane (Danielle) Whitney (Joe); grandchildren Kiahna, Brayden, Alli, Victoria, Atiya, Daniel, Nick, Marshall, Mitchell Madison and Mackenzie; siblings; Maureen Redfern (Fred) Laurie (Julie) Arnason, and Anne Arnason. Many nieces and nephews, childhood and workplace friends.

Mom was born in Gimli, MB on August 31st, 1949, she spent most of her childhood and adult life in Winnipeg. Growing up in Crestview with her siblings. She was a dedicated mom who spent time raising her 4 children.  Our family spent a lot of time camping in the summers at Grand Beach and Clear Lake. When we were kids, she worked at Laura Secord. At Christmas time when she would get home, we would all get a Laura Secord chocolate bar. As we got older, she started working at Safeway. Mom worked hard and was a very dedicated employee. We were a Safeway family as we all worked there at one point or another. Mom enjoyed playing games like Scrabble, Crib, Yahtzee and Ramole. On any given night there would a rousing game of something happening at her kitchen table. Mom enjoyed spending time with her friends as well. She loved having visits with her grandchildren, she always made sure she had some treats for them to enjoy. She loved watching the Winnipeg Jets.

Judy's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Dearest Judy, my friend. I am so heartbroken. 💔 How do I say goodbye to a friend I’ve known for so many years. A friend I had worked with since 1983, confided with, laughed with, argued with, cried with, and even had drinks with. I have memories of us shopping for gifts for the staff Christmas parties at the Legion. Oh, and wrapping all those gifts! There were the breakfasts you made at the store. Somehow you certainly made it work. The eggs Benedict always tasted perfect! The many memories I have of you will forever stay with me. I will miss you. My deepest condolences to the family. Goodbye Judy. Rest In Peace love Maria Barbaro 💕

Dear Jude, you were a mom,  a friend, a confidante, a teacher,a support network and a warrior in my eyes and heart. I have so many cherished memories of you over the last 40 years. Game nights, Sunday dinners followed by movies of the week. Tagging along to visit your parents, Tinker-town trips with your sisters when the kids were little. Family picnics and bbqs, so much delicious food! You and my mom partying at our place back in the day. Weddings, socials and baby showers. All the fun times spent with Kiahna and Brayden❤️ Your impact in my life is immeasurable! Thanks for helping to raise me and for all the life lessons. Thank you for walnut slice, Yorkshire pudding, the best gravy and fudge cake too. Your feisty spirit lives on in our daughter ❤️ I love you Jude and will miss you terribly. You were simply the BEST!❤️❤️❤️

I always enjoyed a drop-in with Judy while visiting her sister Anne during my homecomings to Winnipeg. There were always lively stories shared of past and present times. She had great ‘spunk’ and humour. Rest peacefully Judy. May all  memories bring comfort to your family and friends.

RIP Judy. I will miss our Birthday dinners with Denise. But I will cherish all the memories of working with Judy at Safeway. The time capsule we made & put in the wall by the deli, our “Rotten Ronnie” mannequin or the time you had me convinced the printer repair man was going to charge me with sexual harassment. Your sense of humour made working at Sargent Avenue soooo much fun.

At work,Judy was our bosslady, leader,  mentor, confidant, advisor, and our mom. But more importantly,  she was our friend. She was a force to be reckoned with, yet had a heart of gold. She watched our families grow and we felt like part of hers. So many good times. Our memories will last a lifetime. You will be missed, but always remembered. Till we see you again...💙 Love Shelley
