EARL "BOB" ROBERT JAMERSON

June 10, 1952 – December 19, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Earl (Bob) Jamerson on December 19, 2024. Bob was born on June 10, 1952.

Left remembering him are: his loving wife Karen; his four children, Rayne (Colin), Sable, Chantal, Kyle (Amber); grandchildren, Keenan, Randall, Mia, Madeleine, Rachael, Emma, Bailey, Kolton, Kegan; and great-granddaughter Sequoia; sister Debbie; and nephew Bryce.

Bob was born in Winnipeg to Dorothy and Frank Jamerson. He grew up being chased and teased by his sisters Debbie and Gloria in the East Kildonan area. Bob attended Salisbury, Morse Place, and Kildonan East High school.

In 1984 Bob met Karen and became a father to Chantal and Kyle. This was the beginning of a 40-year love story that was built on a beautiful partnership.

Throughout the years many four-legged family members were welcomed into their home despite his many vocal protestations. Dad had a big kind heart for all things great and small along with a true respect for those less fortunate. One of his greatest loves was music. Bob enjoyed listening to a wide range of genres, rock and roll being his favourite. Mom and Dad spent countless hours listening and singing to their favourite tunes. They would crank up their favourites in the living room. This also provided comfort and enjoyment during his final months at home. Dad loved to play his guitar and his fondness of music will live on in all of his family.

Bob worked at Health Science Centre for 30 years as a registered orthotic technician R.T.O.(c) where he made many lifelong friendships.

Always a hands-on guy, Bob was forever tinkering on vehicles and renovating the family home which tested Mom’s patience on a regular basis. Dad loved to start projects, but completing them was another story!

Bob instilled a love and respect for nature: gardening (the famous Lily garden), paddling the canoe, and all types of wildlife. Dad took us camping all over Manitoba graduating from tents to trailer to RV. This passion was passed down to those he loved.

Dad was a consummate story teller. He enjoyed telling jokes including some funny dad jokes which will be sorely missed. No one spun a yarn like Dad did.

A 19-year member of AA and a disciple of the Big Book, Bob walked the walk and AA became woven into the fabric of his life. We are forever grateful for the support he found at Welcome Group where he was also a mentor to those struggling.

Bob loved a good discussion. It could center on any topic under the sun as he knew a little bit about everything. Many hours were spent discussing and debating politics of the day and the eccentricities of life. His voice, opinion and knowledge will be dearly missed. Dad was always available to provide sage advice and wise counsel to friends and family.

The family would like to thank Bob’s Palliative team for their kind care and support along with the medical team at HSC/CancerCare Manitoba. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba or The Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba in Bob’s honour.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Unitarian Facility located at 603 Wellington Crescent.

Bob’s family kindly invites his friends and relatives to take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Well Pops , you sure had a beautiful turnout to celebrate the amazing man you were. The room was filled with your energy and we knew you were watching from upstairs. People from throughout the years of your life showed up with absolutely beautiful things to say about you. The stories I heard today really will stick with me for my life and they will be shared for many moons to come. You sure got big shoes to fill Pops . You will be missed dearly by so many . I love you forever and always, your son Kyle

My condolences to Bobby's family. Oh what fun times I had with Bobby back in Morse Place -- hanging out at the Lily Restaurant, listening to music in the glow of the blacklight in Bobby's basement and many long walks talking about the mysteries of life, and laughing, ... there was always laughing. He was a good, kind, funny and gentle young man. And, he was also wise. He turned out well (of course, he would), and was well-loved. Bobby was a good friend to me, and I hope, I to him. Bobby, you will be missed.

Sorry to hear of Bobby's passing, my condolences to the family. I grew up and chummed around with Bobby back in the Morse Place days. Back when the family lived on Goverment Ave. Bobby and I would sit in an old Oldsmobile that was stored in the garage and enjoy a few cold ones every so often. Lot’s of fun time's and great memories of Bobby. Rest in peace buddy

Bobby is my cousin as his grandmother (Ethel Kinamore) was my father (Isaac Kinamore) sister

Bobby & his father (Frank) came to our farm just outside Athabasca and I schooled Bobby on farm life.

Interesting enough he never came back and as adults we never had a chance to reminisce about his adventure!

RIP my friend👶🏽👶🏽
