Teri Jenkins

TERI JENKINS
May 15, 1955 – January 10, 2026
Teri Jenkins, age 70, passed away on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her close family, just three months after the passing of her true love and devoted husband, Marty.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Teri was the eldest of five children of Patrick and Alma Rockwell. She grew up in Transcona and attended Transcona Collegiate, where she met her soulmate, Marty Jenkins. After graduation, they married in 1974, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, loyalty, and enduring commitment.
Teri deeply loved her family and friends. After marrying, she and Marty spent many years traveling together, often taking road trips in their beloved MG. Raising their two children, Carolyn and Christopher, brought her the greatest joy, and she often said that creating her family was her proudest achievement. Both she and Marty also found fulfilment in helping others and lending a hand to those in need.
Throughout her life, Teri held many jobs and enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. She loved ceramics, gardening, caring for her indoor plants, cooking, and baking—especially the birthday cakes she made for her children. A die-hard music lover, she found great joy in attending concerts and collecting records and CDs. Though often quiet by nature, she was famously the loudest fan when cheering for the Winnipeg Jets or enthusiastically supporting her children at soccer and softball games. Teri also had a special love for animals, particularly her cats.
Teri worked at Canada Life for several years as a data entry clerk before taking a leave due to health concerns, later diagnosed as frontotemporal dementia.
In 2010, Teri moved to Deer Lodge Care Facility, where she resided for 16 years. Marty remained fiercely devoted, visiting multiple times a day and tirelessly advocating for her care. Staff and residents alike came to know Marty well and witnessed the deep and enduring love he and Teri shared.
Teri will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. While dementia shaped many of her later years, it never defined who she was. Her greatest pride was her family, and her love lives on through her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She also held deep affection for the many friends she and Marty shared, who remained important to her throughout her life.
Teri was predeceased by her beloved husband Marty; her parents, Patrick and Alma; and her siblings Stuart, Chris, and Henry. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Carolyn (Ziggy); her grandchildren, Maisie and Sterling; her son Christopher; her sister Patricia (the late Lyle “Jim”); and her nephews James and Jonathan, and niece Jessica.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Deer Lodge for the compassionate care they provided to Teri over the years.
A celebration of life will be announced once details are finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Teri’s honor.

So sad to hear this beautful love story has ended. But as much as we will miss these wonderful people, they are now together, no more pain or suffering, and getting to be themselves again. Gods speed Marty and Terri, we love you and will miss you.💕💕💕

So sad and so soon after Marty's passing. I've known Teri and Marty since the 1980's. Teri was such a fun loving, warm, positive person and will be missed. We had a lot of good times together. Such good memories. I had not seen Teri for years as she battled dementia, but Marty always let us know how she was doing as he was always by her side taking care of her. I'm sure they are together now and forever. Condolences to the Jenkin's family.
