WOJTEK JEZAK

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our son and brother, Wojtek, at the Grace Hospital after a brief illness.

Wojtek was born in Radom, Poland on November 22,1982. He left Poland in 1987 and immigrated to Winnipeg in May of 1988 when he was five years old. He died in the early hours of Sunday morning, August 29 at the age of 38 years.

Wojtek is lovingly remembered by his mother, Elzbieta, and his brother, Jarek. He was predeceased by his father, Wieslaw in 2011. Also mourning his loss are his aunt and Godmother, Maya in Sechelt, BC, his aunt Teresa and family in Winnipeg, many aunts, uncles and cousins in Poland as well as good friends in Winnipeg.

Wojtek was a creative, gentle man who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed life, especially driving, fishing, barbecuing with friends and travelling. A highlight for Wojtek was a trip to Poland with his mom and Jarek to visit their many relatives and to learn about Poland. As a reluctant child of Polish School for many years , he expressed his gratitude to his mom for forcing him to learn Polish. During the trip and in his every day life he was able to communicate and to understand everything.

Wojtek was a very skilled tradesman, able to do most everything - masonry, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etcetera. His work can be appreciated not only on his own home but also at numerous Winnipeg locations where his creativity shone through. He was always willing to help no matter what the task.

We would like very much to thank all members of the Polish Gymnastics Association SOKOL for their continued support. We are truly grateful for the ongoing support of many family members and friends both here and in Poland.

Thanks for the very caring Pastoral help and support and also to the Medical Team at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care of our son and brother, Wojtek.

A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Ghost Church, 342 Pritchard Avenue on Wednesday, September 8. Mass will begin at 10:00AM followed by burial at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.

Wojtek will be deeply missed and will live in our hearts forever.
