CAROLYN BEVERLEY JOHNSTON

(née Houghton)

January 17, 1946 – September 19, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Carolyn passed away on September 19, 2019 under the care of the staff of the Health Science Centre, at the age of 73 years.

She is survived by her companion Edward; children William (Kim), Robert (Rose-Ann), Troy and Jennifer; grandchildren Carly, Brock and Ella; great-grandchildren Alexis and Greyson as well as siblings David (Fran) Houghton and Kenneth Houghton.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her father Walter James Houghton; mother Hilda Dean Houghton (née Stillman); siblings Dorothy Smith, Marion Martin and James Houghton; first husband William Paquin and second husband Earlen Johnston.

Family and friends were very important to Carolyn. She was very proud of her family and loved each one of her friends. She was a significant member of her extended family; Tammy (Dave), Carrie (Nathan), Krista, Danny (Vanessa) and their children. She will be well remembered by all who knew her, as someone who immediately made you feel like you were welcome and belonged. There were many friends she made over the years and considered them to be family as well.

She was a caring spirit who loved the Christmas season. Carolyn was generous with her time and would always lend a helping hand whenever one was needed. Carolyn enjoyed attending The United Church in Meadowood with her loving companion Eddie.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a photo-tribute, eulogy, stories and condolences for the family by using the comments section of this page.

Please join us in celebrating Carolyn’s life, 11:00 a.m. Friday September 27, 2019 at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We enjoyed Carolyn and Earlen when they attended Good Shepherd church in Selkirk. She brought a smile and energy to our "ACTS" Group. It was a priviledge to know such a lovely lady. M&G
