MURRAY BRIAN JONES

July 7, 1957 – April 13, 2026

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Murray Brian Jones, 68, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, on April 13, 2026 after a commendable battle with his health.

Murray was born on July 7, 1957 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and lived in Lac Du Bonnet until he was 5 years old when he and his family moved to Winnipeg. Lac Du Bonnet was always very close to Murray's heart and he enjoyed going back every year to visit.

Murray loved to travel which was apparent through his dedication to his employer. Murray spent 32 years with Trans-X, a majority of which was spent driving truck across North America. Murray most enjoyed travelling with his family, whether it was visiting the Dominican Republic, Canada's East Coast, or the countless road trips.

Murray’s love for golfing and fishing was apparent to everyone, and there were many shared stories from the infamous anchor failure, to holding his golf clubs oddly. Above all else, the people surrounding Murray were most important. Murray loved spending time with his family and friends. He cherished family game night, cards with friends, camping, road trips, and family get togethers. He also loved spending time with his granddaughters and making holidays special for everyone.

Murray is survived by his loving wife Kathy; his children Kellie (Andrew) and Keriann (Justyn); his step-children, Kyle (Ange) and Ashley (Jason); his grandchildren, Sarah and Hailey; and his sister Pam. Murray was predeceased by his son Christopher; and his loving parents, Marjorie and Stanley. Murray will be deeply missed by his entire family and countless friends.

Murray’s memory will live on through his family. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date with details to be shared as they are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada

I'm grateful to have been included in so many memorable gatherings/dinners where Murray would share so many funny stories. The "anchor" one is my fave.

Sending heartfelt condolences to Kathy, Ashley and all the family.

It's hard to think of Murray as being gone. He had a positive impact on many lives. I hope Murray is finding the peace he so richly deserved. He will always be with us in fond memory and within our hearts.

So many great times together that we will always cherrish. He made our family complete. Always had a good storie to tell...we'd laugh so hard. His number in my phone was saved as "Murray(Damn Canadian)." Will never forget our times in the Dominican Republic...especially just the 4 of us when it poured rain that one night - Bump! Oh Murray...we miss you. Toasting you with a glass of Jameson my brother.
