KATHLEEN KAEMPF

March 28, 1960 - March 11, 2024

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Kathleen Kaempf, peacefully, surrounded by family at Deer Lodge on Monday March 11th, 2024.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Charlotte; she is survived by her sisters, Harriet (Allan) and Barbi; her nephew Jeremy (Melissa); great nephew Carter; great niece Victoria; and Hans her longtime friend and companion.

Kathleen grew up in Fort Rouge and lived most of her life there, buying her first home in the area. She had almost a 40-year career working for WRHA in Home Care, as a Resource Coordinator, and Scheduling clerk. She had many fond memories and close friendships with colleagues, even after retiring in November of 2018.

Kathleen’s favourite times were camping and lake time in the early days, family gatherings, and spending time with Carter and Victoria whom she loved dearly. She also loved Sci-fi series and movies, and TV nights with close friends, as well as shopping with her sister Barbi who was her best friend. Kathleen was an animal lover and rescue-cat Mom. She loved flower gardening, and her indoor plants that she had cultivated over many years.

Kathleen was a caring, kind, and generous soul, who was loved beyond measure. She has a great sense of humour, and she will be missed by us all.

In accordance with Kathleen’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

We wish to thank the Staff at Deer Lodge for their caring and compassion during Kathleen’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, should anyone wish to contribute, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or any non-profit animal rescues.

We encourage friends, family and colleagues to share any stories or pictures.

Heartfelt condolences...I worked with Kathleen at Home Care. She and I would have lovely conversations about many things related to life and living. She has a beautiful soul. I love her dearly.

My sincere condolences to Kathleen’s family & loved ones! I worked with Kathleen in Home Care for a few years. She had worked there for much longer than I and I was always amazed with her insight & great sense of humour. Her smile & efficiency to the tasks at hand were a quiet model!

Harriet and Barbi, beautiful tribute to your beautiful sister. I have spent many hours with Kk over the years. Visits to her home, the hospital and DLC. We worked together from my beginnings in Home Care. My first partner. We laughed and laughed. We shared many a lunch, and I would take the opportunity to bring her a Timmy's sandwich to make up for a hospital meal.

She was dedicated to her staff and was a wealth of knowledge and she knew all the "stories".  Some that curled my eyelashes lol

We talked tv shows, even the scary ones that had me only listening cause I was too nervous to watch. When I moved into her office space with her, she said I could listen to any music except reggae! I assured her that wouldn't happen. When my husband got sick, we drifted apart but I thought of her often. I believe she is with your parents and her fur babies. Going for walks!

My sincere sympathies to your entire family and Hans. I am thinking of you.
