GARY KAMINSKY

February 25, 1963 - April 5, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce that on Wednesday, April 5 Gary Kaminsky passed away suddenly at the age of 60.

Gary was born on February 25, 1963, in Winnipeg to his parents Norman and Delores.  Gary spent his entire life as a part of the Fort Garry community.

After graduating high school Gary became a red seal mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for most of his career until health problems had him working as a service advisor, which he enjoyed up until his passing.

Gary was one of a kind and larger than life person. The gentle giant had a kind personality with a most generous heart. He was always willing to help his family and friends with any task, no matter what.  He never left anyone feeling he was being inconvenienced. Gary loved sports.  Early in his life he played rugby, hockey and other sports.  He also became an official for hockey and softball.  He had a passion for golfing and recently replaced his interest in snowmobiling for warmer weather quadding.  His favorite professional sport teams included his hometown Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets.  He had lifetime passion for the Minnesota Vikings and Boston Bruins.  His favourite past time was spending time with Lisa, when he wasn’t bargain hunting for garage sales, Marketplace or Amazon deals.  He always wanted to be around friends and family.  Gary always made everyone feel welcome in his social garage, having a drink or soaking in the hot tub.

Over the last 8 years Gary was at his happiest.  Lisa and Gary found each other and made a home together. With the love of his life by his side they supported each other, were best friends and experienced many adventures together.  Most recently they began to travel together annually, travelling to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Gary was predeceased by his parents Norman and Delores, his brother Keith and Uncle Gil. Gary will be missed by his partner Lisa, and her daughters Morgan (Brenden) and Camryn.  He will be missed by his Aunty Pat, sister-in law Joanne, his sister-in-law Laura and Craig and brother-in-law Alan and Mandy.  Gary has so many cousins, nieces, nephew and many lifetime friends who will all miss him while keeping him in their cherished memories.

Thank you, Gary, for giving me the most wonderful 8 years and showing me what true love is.
I love you and we will miss you always.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 16, at the Silver Spike Saloon located on 202 Bond St. from 1:00 till 4:00 PM.
