Heaven Received a
Very Special Lady
DOREEN HELEN
ELIZEBETH KERR

(née Ariss)

February 7, 1930 – October 5, 2026

Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Mom, “Gam Gam” leaves behind many loved ones to mourn her loss.

Mom was best known for her love of cooking. Her perogies and pies were her signature dishes, and many said that they were the best they had ever had. Many family dinners were enjoyed over the years as Mom loved cooking for her family and friends. Bringing her family together meant so much to her.

Mom was born in Portage La Prairie and grew up on the farm in Bagot, Manitoba. She worked hard as a child helping out with the chores and learning how to cook from her mother. She instilled a strong work ethic that carried on throughout her life. She worked various jobs until she was 76 years old. She loved fishing, playing cards (Better Buy), and golf. She golfed until she was 89 years old. You never saw her without her hair, makeup, and gel nails done. She loved going for a gamble, shopping at Marshals and having a spiced rum and pepsi (with a lime twist).

Mom was predeceased by her husband Frank Kerr, her parents Ernest and Caroline Ariss, brother Norman Ariss and daughter Penny Adams.

She is survived by her children Terry Longstreet (Judy), Susan Schenkeveld (Perry), Dawn Robinson (Stephen), Dan Robinson (Tracey), Stepson Jimmy Adams (Corinne), Son-in-law Rick Wagner (Marilyn), sisters Isabel Neudorf and Gloria Mosgrove and families, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. And also her fur baby “Helix”.

Loyal friends Bob, Phyllis, Evelyn, and Audrey all hold a very special place in Mom’s heart.

At her request cremation has taken place.

A private family gathering will take place in her honor at a later date.

A big thank you to the wonderful staff at Seven Oaks Hospital who took such good care of mom.

And to all of the family and friends for visiting Mom during her 8 weeks in the hospital.

She was a very lucky lady to be loved by so many, and will treasure her memories of family and friends forever. “She lived well, laughed often, and loved deeply”

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

I will always treasure the way she brought joy to the everyday and made everyone feel special. She was a star and I'll miss her giggling across the table with me at Thanksgiving 💕
