DENISE JEAN KILFOYLE
(née SAMPSON)
May 29, 1963 ~ May 27, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Jean Kilfoyle (née Sampson) at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 27, 2024 with family by her side, two days shy of her 61st birthday.
Left to cherish her memory are her partner, Michael Richards; Uncle Neville; Auntie Sheila; Auntie Diane; Wilf Schellenberg; cousins, Eero, Inka, Maya, Nancy, Ceri, James, and Karen; Leila; Daniel; Godson Christopher; along with other relatives and dear friends.
Denise is predeceased by her parents, Jean and Raymond; step-mom Janet; and brother David; along with other loved ones.
Denise was born in Browns Town, Jamaica. She found her way to England and finally to Canada as a teenager where she lived with her dad and step-mom.
Denise was fun-loving and adventurous with a great sense of humour. She loved her family near and far and would have conversations about them often. Recent years found her dealing with several ailments that prevented her from traveling any longer but was able to visit many places around the world prior to that.
Denise loved animals, music, movies, wrestling, Monster Jams, her cat Sydney, and hanging out with Michael. She began to rely on Michael more and more as her health declined. They were always together and shared many good times together. Thank you Michael for sticking by her side for all of these years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital ICU for their care and compassion; particularly Nikol and Sam who were there to put up with her antics and laughed at her jokes.
A Celebration of Denise’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Chapel at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba with a short reception to follow.
If friends and family so desire, a donation in Denise’s memory can be made to the charity of their choice.
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
- John 3:16
Rest well Queen DenDen

I remember when I first met Denise. We were in high school going on a trip and she was sitting all by herself and we invited her to come sit with us and the rest is history. I thankful that I got to know her and I will cherish all the wonderful memories. I will truly miss her and all the good times we shared. May she Rest In Peac. 🙏🏼💐

My dear cousin Denise. I will always remember the happy times we shared together in England. We had many happy times with our family - Grandma (Ivy), Auntie Sheila, Uncle Bernard, our brothers, Steven and David and of course your beautiful mom Jean, as well as the holiday we spent with you in Canada. I will treasure these memories.
Be at peace now my lovely cousin.
Love, Karen and Auntie Sheila. 💕xxxxxx
