MARION KILFOYLE
October 4, 1941 – November 26, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce that Marion Elsie Kilfoyle (née Simpkin) passed away November 26, 2024 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83. Marion was born in Ashtead, Surrey, Great Britain on October 4, 1941.
Marion will be sadly missed by her husband, Howard; son Leigh (Lianne); daughter Shelley (Terence); Grandchildren, Joshua (Sara) Katrina, Caleb, Noah (Veronica); and Great Grandchildren, Zander and Zoe.
Marion was the oldest of 5 children; she was like a second Mum to her younger siblings. Marion & Howard were married on July 17, 1965 in Winnipeg. During their married life they lived in four provinces and Lahr, Germany.
Marion was a homemaker. She loved gardening, taking care of the house and yard and watching birds. She was a kind hearted person. She was always available to watch her grandchildren and delighted in spending time with them and giving them treats. Marion taught Sunday school and more recently enjoyed talking with the other seniors at their church.
Marion’s love was evident in the way she responded to her husband, children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved making Turkey dinner for special occasions and her family looked forward to these meals. Howard and Marion had several wonderful vacations together.
A special thank you to Grace Hospital ER, St. Boniface ER and the Acute Cardiac Care Unit for their excellent and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Harvest Manitoba or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Bridge Church at 620 Oxbow Bend Road in Winnipeg, MB.
Marion’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Lovely photo biography. Marion loved her sunday school kids and was such a blessing to parents and kids. Ross and I also enjoyed our visits with both Howie and Marion. Our sympathies to Howie and Shelly and the rest of the family.

Growing up, my sister always looked after us. I remember she would send me to the store every Friday for a can of fruit cocktail that cost 28:cents and would often give me a dollar and let me keep the change. She left school early to help support the family, as our mother was raising five children on her own without support from our father. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed by all.

My dear Auntie Marion...she was the kindest and most selfless person you could ever meet. I have so many fond memories of her. Every year for birthdays and holidays I knew to expect a card that would keep us updated with family, and every year until my 18th birthday it would come with a toonie. When my mum and I would visit (or move) to Winnipeg, she would always open her home up to us. I am grateful that we were able to visit with her one last time in August with my mum.
