LYNDA "LYNN" JANE KLYMCHUK

May 21, 1949 - March 21, 2023

Lynn passed away suddenly in her Charleswood home on March 21, 2023.

She is survived by her son Jonathan, and sister Elaine Peacock. Lynn was preceded by her parents Emma and Mickey Pollick. She cherished her lifelong friendships with Darlene Willis and Barb Klymchuk who will miss her dearly.

Growing up Lynn and Elaine often found themselves in unusual situations. On one occasion Lynn ended up stranded on the roof for several hours until her father returned home to rescue her. Her first car was a white 1967 Mustang chosen by Mickey. A pure gem. Lynn was a caring and devoted mother. One of Jonathan's first memories is of her comforting him overnight when he had an ear infection. In recent years they enjoyed watching Murder She Wrote and classic movies. Lynn loved crossword puzzles and reading. Her collection of Danielle Steele books could fill a barn!

Lynn received her BA and Teaching Certificate from University of Winnipeg and Manitoba, respectively. Lynn overcame shyness and taught for over 25 years and provided many wonderful learning experiences for her students. On one occasion Dan walked into one of her classes and saw her students huddled around her on the floor, listening intently, as she taught a lesson. Each Christmas Lynn received bags of presents from her students. She obviously cared for them and they her.

As per Lynn's wishes, there will be no service.

Lynn’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Dear Jonathan, Dan & Elaine, Thinking of you at this very sad & difficult time. Lynn & I first met in 1976 when we began teaching at Harold Hatcher School. After our maternity leaves, we went to Regent Park School & then to Joseph Teres School. I have many memories of Lynn -lots of fun times & lots of laughter were shared over those many years. Rest in peace, Lynn! Sincerely, Marilyn

Condolences to Jonathan and Dan for your loss. I have so many happy memories of Lynn's involvement as a teacher and colleague at Harold Hatcher School where I first met her and later at Joseph Teres School. I have enjoyed her friendship and remember the many happy times with other staff members as we enjoyed getting together socially Rest in peace, It weas a pleasure knowing you.

Dear Jon and Dan,   Thinking of you in your loss. She was so proud of you, Jon. I  have fond memories of time I had with Lynn carpooling to school and teaching next to each other.  I  reconnected with her by phone in December and again  on March 5.  She will be at peace.  Sincerely, Bonnie
