I had not seen Vanessa in years, but I can close my eyes and hear her inteliigent, funny takes on life and people. Nobody could recall a person and their menu preferences better than her and she was easily the most popular, kindest server. She had an uncanny ability to be considerate and patient with anyone, and at 3 am, that was remarkable. All of her cats benefitted from her grace and love too. Sincerest condolences to her all her loved ones, her son, her family. This is very sad news.

It's been so long since I have seen Vanessa but we spent so much time together over the years working at Papas. She was always a favourite and her kind personality could not be matched. We shared so many stories and laughs sharing a feta and tomatoe pizza or at her apartment after work. My deepest condolences to her family, her son and her friends I am truly sadden to hear this terrible news. ❤️

Vanessa had the best laugh and the best sense of humour. Working with her meant things were going to get done right and we were going to have a blast doing it. She was kind, smart, funny, shy sometimes, but also brave. I am so grateful I got to witness her become a mom to Liam and am so proud of her for going back to school and fulfilling her dream of becoming an EA. We drifted apart as people often do when children come along, jobs change, and life moves on, but I thought of her often. I am in disbelief and just so sad to hear that she is gone. My deepest condolences to Liam, her parents, and her family.

I knew and loved Vanessa when we were pre-teen girls in Montreal. She was my first best friend – in the last sweet moments of childhood (before the drama of adolescence kicks in). I remember how smart, kind, creative, and fun she was. My memories of our time together include lots of sleepovers, arts and crafts, and rollerskating (it was the ‘80s after all). I remember playing “school” with her and playing with her amazing doll house (hand-crafted by Bart) and walking to and from school together. I remember her cat from way back when, too-- Daphne. It looks like she never lost that love for cats. I think she introduced me to the Beatles, too… so many great memories, I could go on.
We lost touch as we grew up but I’ve never forgotten Vanessa. She really was my great childhood friend and her parents also hold a special place in my heart. I’m so sad to hear of Vanessa’s passing. I hope she’s at peace. My condolences to her entire family.
