BEATRICE MAUREEN KRUK

(née THOMAS)

July 8, 1942 – July 28, 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce that Maureen passed away on July 28 in Riverview Health Centre at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Merv.; children Grant (Andrea); grandchildren (Kevin, Nickolas and Mitchell); Jason (Dawn)grandson Anton; brothers, Ivan; Clifford (Emily); Barry; and Warren (Diana). She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Beatrice Thomas.

Maureen was born in Winnipeg and lived and attended school in Grand Marais Mb. In 1961 she met Merv. and they were married in 1962. In 1965 their first son was born followed by a second son in 1971.

Maureen was basically a stay-at-home Mom but occasionally did various part time jobs as the family moved with her husband's employ. She retired from School Bus Driving with Transcona Springfield School Division after 16 years.

She took up golf later in life and joined Merv. at Rossmere Country Club for many years where she met and cultivated many friendships. Even though she was a late starter, she became proficient enough to score a hole in one at La Verendrye golf club. Her family was most important to her and the word NO was seldom heard coming from her lips.

In Accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

The family would also like to extend their sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Support staff at Cancer Care Manitoba; also, to the wonderful staff at Women's Hospital. Thank you also to the caring Doctors, Nurses and compassionate staff at Riverview Health Centre. We could not have asked for better care during this trying time in our lives.

The family would also like to thank Maureen's friends and family for their kind messages and phone calls as well as visits to her when she was able to receive them. Thank You for all your thoughts and prayers.

As per Maureen's wish there will be no funeral. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Maureen's wish also was for everyone to take the message in the lyrics of the background song to heart.
