HUBERT R. KUPPE

December 24, 1958 – July 13, 2022

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. We were so incredibly lucky to have shared the time we had with him as he filled our lives with humour and love. He is survived by his pride and joy for 31 years, daughter Heather (Jeremy), his mother Emma and wife of 42 years, Maureen, as well as many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his sister Roswitha.

Hubert was a devoted fan of the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Toronto Blue Jays and treasured the times he was able to cheer them on in person. He enjoyed many years of camping at Falcon Lake and Hecla, golfing and barbequing for the family. He was always the first to lend a hand when anyone needed help.

We wish to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital Urgent Care, Vascular Surgeons and GB3 staff at HSC and the Palliative Care team at Riverview Centre who gave Hubert the best of care. We also want to thank family, friends, neighbors and the staff at Hubert’s employer, Centre Flavie for their support and kindness.

In lieu of a formal memorial service, Hubert’s wish was for each of us to remember and celebrate his life in their own private way.

Woody, we will miss you so very much as you were taken from us far, far too soon.

What a beautiful video! He always said hi to me at Flavie when I volunteered.  A wonderful human being.  Lorraine, sister of Eugene.

Dear Maureen and Heather (Jeremy) Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time. When my dad passed I found comfort in this simple poem by M.E. Miro called  A Father’s Love Endures I have seen  strength, like an oak in the storm; I have felt gentleness, like a golden summer dawn; I have heard laughter like a splashing waterfall; I have felt protection, like a shelter all around; All from a life that gave me life; All from my father’s love. Sincerest sympathy, Cindy Nachtigall 💜

For the past four years Hubert was a steadfast and dedicated employee with our organization, Centre Flavie.  In reality he was much more than an employee, he was a friend who worked alongside each of us to alleviate the suffering of the impoverished.  We offer our prayers and thoughts at this difficult time.
