ROLAND (ROLLY) JOSEPH VICTOR LABELLE

December 4, 1932 – May 5, 2025

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Roland LaBelle, at the age of 92.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Irene in 2022. He is survived by his children, Greg (Coleen), Michelle, Calvin (Delee) and Ken (Allison); grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa), Jordan (Dylan), Aimee (Mike), Lane (Desiree), Jory (Harmony), Courtney (Kyle), Marc (Emma), Lauren, Colton (Tiffany), Hailey, Damian and Dylan; great grandchildren, Melody, Jaxon, Maizie, Ella, Kirah, Mieke, Callum, Elijah and Nora; sisters Doris, Evelyn, Shirley (Bill) and Janet. He will also be remembered by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dad worked at CP Rail and retired as a Supervisor in the Material Shop. He retired at 55 years old and enjoyed travelling, lawn bowling, and simply having a good time with family. He also loved 10 pin bowling and played in leagues at Club Lavendre and Chateau Lanes for many years. Dad loved golfing and joined the Transcona Country Club, he was really good at it and loved to teach us kids and his grandchildren how to golf. He joined a curling league and the Transcona Senior Centre as he loved playing cards. Dad was also a knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was the type of person who knew someone wherever he went.

Dad was a very honourable man of deep faith, strong principles and was a wonderful dad, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great life and lived it to the fullest. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. “Memories are the timeless treasures of the heart”

The family is grateful for the excellent care provided by the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Cremation has taken place, and a service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Joseph the Worker at 505 Brewster St. A light lunch will be served afterwards.

Rolly’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Care would be appreciated.

My sincere condolences to all Roly's family. We were neighbours for many years with Roly and Irene. In later years we reconnected LawnBowling and Roly always was so friendly and he will be missed.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal but Love leaves memories no one can steal.May all your wonderful memories you shared together in happy times somehow sustain you in your time of sorrow.
