Linda Laberge

LINDA DOREENE LABERGE
(née BEATTIE)
July 31, 1947 – February 6, 2025
After a brief but fierce battle with cancer, Linda said her goodbyes to her loving family and peacefully left us on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Linda is pre deceased by her mother and father, Doreene (née Latham) and Gordon Beattie; and by her brother Robert Beattie.
Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband Louis; her children, Marc Laberge (Hannah), Deborah (Greg) Slywchuk, Michael (Christie) Laberge; and her grandkids, Liam, Lindsay, Jessica, Noah, Ethan, Isaac, Jake, and Max; and by her big sister Patricia Gibson.
Linda was born July 31, 1947 in Moose Jaw, SK. She spent her early years in Moose Jaw before Gordon was transferred to Winnipeg with CP Rail. She attended high school at Windsor Park Collegiate, where she met many of her good friends she still has to this day, and through them, met the love of her life, Louis. She married Louis on October 2, 1965 and began a wonderful life and family in Winnipeg. Linda started a career with Bank of Montreal once her three children were all in school. She worked many years with the bank at different locations, and always had a big smile for customers and staff alike.
There was a trip to Europe once mom and dad both retired. Dad says “My dear, sweet Linda, being the conjuror she was, turned a 3-week (so I thought) trip into a wonderful 2-month experience across Europe. It was a bucket list trip and we had the time of our lives. Linda turned our photograph memories from that most amazing time together into the most beautiful, creative scrapbooks.”
And then there were winters in Arizona. Mom and dad spent 14 years wintering in Apache Junction, AZ in the wonderful community of Coral Sands. There, they made many new friends and encouraged many “old” friends to join them. So many gatherings, parties, golf games, theme dinners and other exciting times. What an enjoyable way to spend their early retirement years.
Linda was a kind, warm, loving spirit that was the glue of her family. She always worked her magic to be sure everyone stayed close and got together for special gatherings at Christmas, New Years, birthdays and many other times throughout the years. Whenever Linda met someone, they were always greeted with kindness and warmth. You will be dearly missed, wife, mom, sister, g-ma, grandmas, grandma, friend and anything else you were to the many people you touched.
Our family would like to thank and acknowledge the kindness and wonderful care mom received at St. Boniface Hospital on E5. Nurses Michelle and Gerry and all the staff took great care of mom and all of us family members going through such an unimaginably difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held in honour of Linda at 2:30pm on Tuesday, February 18th at 603 Wellington Crescent (Unitarian Church).
Linda’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Louis and family,
The Slywchuk family didn't share a lot of time with the Laberge family, but we were connected through the marriage of Greg and Debbie.
When we did enjoy a gathering, regardless of the event, Linda and Louis made us all feel undeniably like family. The doors were always open, cheer to be shared, food on the table and laughter & love in the air.. so memorable!💝
Louis, may you find solace and peace through the many memories, experiences and joys shared. I know your loving and devoted family will be by your side to comfort and support in the times to come.
Linda, your smile, laughter and genuine kindness is etched in my memory. You are beautiful in every way And will be missed dearly. ♥️♥️♥️

Our deepest condolances to Louis and the family. Her passing came as an extreme shock to us. Our friendship extended back decades to high school days. Many were the social get togethers in Coral Sands Mobile Park in Arizona. Linda was famous for her lemon pie from fresh lemons. In recent years the L and L golf tournament was a highlight of the year. Linda will be missed by everyone who knew her. Rest in peace.

Need a room lit up, just have Linda and Louis enter. What an incredible Lady, whenever we met them they seemed to be on top of the world. The last time we met was a short time ago at the St Norbert Arena where they were watching their grandson. Wish the hug had been a little longer. We can't imagine anyone that ever met her not missing her. Our thoughts are with you Louis and your family..

We are so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. She was a beautiful lady and treated all who met her with kindness and empathy. I recall her special relationship with her brother Bobby and know that all of the love in the world resided there. As it did with Louis and family. Theirs was a marriage to be envied, And held up as an example to all. We deeply regret that we will be out of the country and unable to attend the celebration of life. Our sincere sympathies to Louis and family.
