Denis Labossiere

DENIS JOSEPH GABRIEL LABOSSIERE
March 1st, 1940 - December 23, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Denis Labossiere, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, whose presence brought warmth, strength, and quiet joy to all who knew him.
Denis was the beloved husband of Kathleen. Finding such a great love later in life was a true blessing and they enjoyed 8 beautiful years together until his passing at the age of 85 on December 23rd, 2025. Denis was a proud and loving father to Janet (passed Dec. 26, 2024), Marc (Therese), Phil, and Deane (Manual Fran). Denis’s love for his children was deep, unwavering, and beyond words, shown through endless support and devotion.
Denis was a cherished Papa to Tamara, Dustin (Olivia), Julien (Courtney), Jesse (Erica T), Stephan (Erica), Adrian (Lauren), and Danica along with his stepchildren Craig (Kristan), Nikki and Chantal, his step-grandchildren Ethan (Bree), Noah and Olivia and step-great grandchildren Bam and Sophia. Denis rarely missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren play, cheer them on, and celebrate their achievements. Whether standing on the sidelines or sitting in the stands, Denis was never prouder than when watching his grandchildren compete, grow, and shine through sport. Those moments were among his greatest joys.
By trade, Denis was a plumber and a highly respected family business owner, known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and reliability. He took great pride in doing quality work and built his reputation on integrity, fairness, and genuine care for the people he served and worked with. Denis was deeply appreciated by his employees, clients and the community he worked in, not only for his skill and professionalism, but for the kindness and respect he showed to everyone he met.
Denis is predeceased by his father (Eustache), mother, (Marie-Louise, lovingly known as Nana), his siblings (Paul, Guy, Gerry, Jean and Lillian) his first wife, Monique (née Lapointe), and his oldest daughter Janet. Though he carried these losses with him, he continued to give generously of his heart, always putting family first.
Denis will be remembered for his comforting and reassuring presence, his love of family gatherings, his unwavering support, and the way he showed love so openly. His legacy lives on through the family he adored and the many lives he touched simply by being there.
A Celebration of Life to honour Denis will be held on Monday, January 5th at 2pm, 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Denis’s family would like to thank the palliative nurses and the HSE health care workers who helped care for Denis in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages the support of others affected by cancer in donating to the Never Alone Cancer Foundation.

This is so sad 😭 he was a great father and grandfather, I have been many family members hairstylist for years and years , I did his first wifes hair , I did his second wife's hair long before they even met ! Small world but wonderful to find love again ! The loss of Janet was unexpected , i also did her hair when she was being diagnosed, and diane manny Jessy , the kids when they were little , what a wonderful living and supportive family they all are . Not the patriarch is gone I know you will all hold each other up , as you have always done with strength and kindness and patience with the grieving process which is different for everyone. I love you all so much , thank you for letting me be a small part of watching your family grow through good times and hard ones. You have all been a pleasure and I am always here if you need me.

Uncle Denis was so kind, loving, and fun-loving, even as the unwitting victim of his brother-in-law's practical jokes. I'll never forget his laugh! It was such a joy to see him last year! The children of Uncle Bob and Auntie Annette will be with you in spirit, love, and prayer. Hugs to all.

Such a wonderful family led by such a great man. We are so sorry for your loss. He was one of the best family men and role models there ever was. We were so fortunate to meet the Fran/Labossiere clan through the kids hockey and they've been like family ever since. Our kids were honoured and blessed to call him Papa all that time. Sending big hugs to you all ❤️🙏🏻

I first got to meet Denis in the late 70’s while we were working for the same plumbing company.
Eventually when he went on his own he asked me to work for him.
He always put family first and treated me like part of his family.
We had many happy times together.
Thank you my friend and rest in peace.
