Mona passed away at Riverview palliative ward January 17 after losing her fight with cancer.

Mona was predeceased by her father, Leonel Lacroix and also her mother, Marie-Ange Lacroix. She leaves behind her sister Collette and brother Marc (Sandy), niece Michelle (Colin) and great nieces Bella and Olivia.

Mona worked in the administrative area in provincial health care. She was an avid gardener and was also an accomplished seamstress. She was determined to get them out for their walks on many cold winter mornings and evenings.

I knew Mona when we were kids working at McDonalds She was fun and kind and just the best to hang out with. We took a trip to Edmonton to visit my father and I found these pics - Mona was always up for any adventure

I worked with Mona in WRHA. She was full of laughter and fun. We shared stories about our fur babies as we both owned border collies. Her smile, her wit, and her concern for her family,  are just a few positive characteristics of Mona and there are many more. Mona lived her life with grace and dignity. It was such a pleasure to know and share in her life. Mona, you are missed!

My condolences to Collette, Marc and family Mona would speak fondly of you often. Mona and I worked together for a number of years with the WRHA, we had a lot of fun and laughs. Her laugh was something else - we would hear her before we saw her and it was contagious. I will always remember her for the love she had for her flowers, her gardening advice she shared, as well as her stamina for walking her faithful companions Buddy and Patches rain or shine. Mona, you have left a big hole in those who were lucky enough to know you and call you their friend.  Still in shock, miss you.   Heather Makinson
