Lillian Laflèche
LILLIAN LAFLÈCHE
(NÉE DEVRIENDT)
April 8, 1934 - November 11, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lillian Laflèche (née Devriendt) age 90, who peacefully passed away on November 11th 2024. She was not only a mother, grandmother and aunt, but a cherished friend to many.
Reunited in love and harmony, Lillian finds eternal peace with husband André Laflèche of 69 years who recently passed.
Lillian will be remembered for her selflessness and generosity, always giving and donating to those in need. Her acts of kindness touched countless lives both near and far. Neighbours and friends knew her as a bright light - a friend to all and someone whose presence always brought joy.
Lillian was a kind, loving mother to her only son Jean-Paul. Her son carries forward her values of kindness and generosity every day.
She leaves behind her daughter in law Manon Tremblay; and granddaughters, Annabelle and Chloe, who were to this day her greatest joy in life. She loved nothing more than introducing her granddaughters to others, beaming with pride as she spoke about the young women they had become.
Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Actionmarguerite St Vital who cared for Lillian until her final moments. Their kindness, patience, and compassion allowed her to be safe and comfortable at all times.
As per Lillian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for family and friends will take place in the spring for Lillian and Andre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to Actionmarguerite St Vital.
Lillian’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Lillian was a good friend - a genuine, caring and generous person. I shall miss her dearly! Our journey began over 60 years ago when we attended pre-natal classes together. Through the years we celebrated many birthday and anniversary dinners with Lillian and Andre - those memories will keep us smiling!
We are so sorry for your loss Jean-Paul. To you, Manon, Annabelle an Chloe, please accept our sincere condolences.

Sharing in your sadness as I remember my Godmother. Lillian was a jolly woman with a kind soul and always welcoming our family into her life. May happy memories of your mother and father bring comfort during this time and always. My condolences to your family Jean-Paul.

Lillian was my aunt in spiri! She had no daughters of her own and welcomed us into her Belgian/French Family! I admired her as a business woman, her strength and fierce spirit! I inherited her mother's middle name at birth and I treasure it always! She was one of our mother's best friend, her and Gabriella Bockstael would play cards monthly, with a group of other Belgian Ladies and we looked forward to it being our Mother's turn. There was always gossip and the famous Lucchen, almond tarts and pastries her mother Mariea made! She attended all of our weddings, Lillian and Andre celebrated life! They hosted at the Delta cottage, women only and family gatherings that we were all apart of! Andre was the ever fabulous barbecue connesoir , the two stepper, jive dancer and wine efficient! I will take all these memories I have of you both and cherish the earthly time we were entwined together. condolences to Jean Paul, and Family. Love always, Jacquie

We shall always remember all the fun times at their beautiful cottage at Delta Beach. They were always the perfect hosts. And of course the wee visits to South Beach ...... [our little secret :):)] We loved them both dearly and will miss them ..... no more challenging games of Dominos!

I loved Lillian so much. She was spunky and told it like it was. I had the privilege of working with her at the St. Boniface School Division. I had been thinking of her recently. My condolences to the family. She was a beautiful soul.
