PETER (PETRUS) LAMBOO
February 6, 1941 - March 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Lamboo, after a yearlong struggle with cancer. We were able to honour his wishes as he died at home.
He is predeceased by his parents, Arnoldus and Cornelia; his sister Joanne; and brother Theodore. He leaves to mourn seven brothers and one sister; many nieces and nephews, and their families.
Peter was born in Vijfhuizen, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Peter adjusted to life in Canada and worked in several vocations until he found his work home at the Grace Hospital for 47 years. At the Grace, he made several lifelong friends which he valued. Peter had a kind heart, and those who knew him as his friend were truly lucky.
The family would like to acknowledge the doctors at CancerCare, the WRHA Palliative Care team and his friends Edna, Lillian, Brent, Ken and Cameron to name a few. Their kindness helped to retain his dignity.
As per his wishes there will be no service.
Peter’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

It was an honor to work with Peter. I first met Peter 20 years ago, when I was hired at the Grace. Although we did not work out of the same shop, Peters knowledge of the facility was second to none. He helped me out in many instances where I couldn't find my way around. If a certain part was needed, Peter always knew where it was kept.
over the years, he became more than a coworker to me. He was my friend
Many of us in the deptartment referred to him as "Dad". A term of endearment earned out of respect. As a father figure he had great advice whether job related or personal. I will miss those conversations at coffee and breaks those many years we worked together.
I will miss visting him at his home. I will miss him.
Rest in peace "Dad"
Until we meet again.

Uncle Pete would never say no if someone needed help. He helped me move into my house, helped my dad with renovations projects. I can't thank him enough for everything he did over the years. Thanks, Uncle Pete. I'm glad you're able to rest now.
