LYNNE LAMIRANDE

June 19, 1955 – January 27, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lynne Lamirande, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister-in-law, on January 27, 2025. Lynne was born on June 19, 1955, and was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Larry; son, Derrick (Rachel); grandchildren, Hailey (Dylan), Mason, Carter, Kali, Kristjan, Keira, and Kerstiana; siblings-in-law, Victor, Sharon, Renee, and Tom; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Alma and Hector Carriere; brother, Larry; parents-in-law, Rita and Emile Lamirande; brother-in-law, Roy; son, Jeffrey; and granddaughter, Elisha.

In her teens, Lynne met the love of her life, Larry, and they wed on November 10, 1973. A year later, they welcomed their first son, Derrick, in September 1974, and their family was completed with the arrival of their youngest son, Jeffrey, in January 1981.

Lynne was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family dearly and was always there to show her support. Whether attending school functions or sporting events, she was always willing to be there for her boys and grandchildren. Being surrounded by family brought her so much joy. She was so proud of each of her grandbabies and loved them all dearly. Her heart was full when the family was all together. Lynne loved Christmas and had a way of making it special for her family. She loved putting out all her decorations and cooked an abundance of food. Kids and grandchildren were always spoiled. We will miss how special you made Christmas for us.

Lynne loved animals and had a big heart for furry friends. Over the years, Lynne and Larry had many pets—Pepper, Dreamer, Sasha, and Buddy to name a few. When they moved into an apartment complex that did not allow pets, Lynne found it very hard. She was happy when her grandpuppies, Whiskey and Rosie, came along. She loved them very much and they adored her just as much.

Lynne had a lengthy career in media, working at places such as CKND/Global, CJOB/Power 97 FM, and the APTN. She also spent a few years as a building manager before retiring, which allowed her to meet many wonderful people and develop lifelong friendships.

As per Lynne's wishes, there will not be a service, and a cremation has taken place.

Lynne’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

"Love is the comfort and warmth

of just being together.

The closeness that comes with caring

and understanding the little things

that make a moment special and a

lifetime of happiness.

Love is what I've found with you.

Love you, Lynne, with all my heart."

“Thank you, Mother, for all that you have done.

You took great care of your sons.

You loved us all from the very start

with your warm, kind, and loving heart.

Thank you, Mother, for being strong,

While trying to teach us right from wrong.

If anytime we had a problem,

you were there to help us solve them.

You'd lift us up when we were feeling blue.

Thank you, Mother, for we could always count on you.

You were such an awesome mother.

The love you showed was like no other.

Thank you, Mother for your dear, sweet love.

Now you'll watch over us from heaven above.”

My Dearest Larry, Derrick, Rachel, Mason, Carter and Family. Lynne and my friendship was not a long one but it was a profound one.

I was given a great gift, by chance, because of where I lived. During little Elisha’s last days at Sick Kids Hospital I was blessed with the opportunity to stand in for Lynne and Annette as Elisha’s surrogate Grandmother. Rachel and Derrick opened their hearts at such a private and vulnerable time and let me in. A time that, by the grace of God, many of us have never experienced. They were so loving and strong. Through this experience Lynne and I became friends. Though only a few calls and texts over the years we had bonded. We shared Elisha’s passing and then Jeff’s 🌈👼🏻😇💙💙. Lynne always reminded me how grateful she had been that I was there. She was special and had a beautiful heart.

I have a saying that I love and this was Lynne to me..….

I cannot remember our conversations or texts but I will never forget how she made me feel…..loved by her, appreciated by her and blessed, because we were friends. Thank you Lynne. Rest in the Peace and Presence of our God and your precious Elisha and Jeff. You will be missed, never forgotten, forever in so many hearts and loved forever 🌈👼🏻😇😇💙💙💙

Feeling blessed that we were friends. 🙏
