ROBERT "BOB" LECLAIRE

August 5, 1960 – October 18, 2023

It’s with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear brother Bob, Robert Gene LeClaire.

In the evening of October 18th, surrounded by family and friends, he succumbed to his long contentious battle with lung cancer.

Predeceased by his father Robert Sr, and survived by his partner Candace, his beloved cat Karma, his children Bobby (Hannah), and Cherise (Adam), his 4 grandchildren, as well as his Mother Laura, brothers Larry, Lenny (Lauri), Kevin and sister Tammy (Frank).. And many, many friends.

Bob leaves a legacy of living (and eventually dying) on his own terms.

Valiantly, though some might say stubbornly, refusing to quit living his life in his home, with his friends despite hardship, pressure, or even medical diagnosis. Afterall “Quitting is for quitters.”

Even as his condition declined and the struggle grew, he refused to submit, and to his dying day would not be bound to a hospital bed.

Bob, you are uncontrollably loved.

May you now, finally rest.

My condolences to all. I will always remember his artwork...his love for creating and sharing his ability with his children when they were very young. I remember him using his artistic ability to decorate birthday cakes, make birthday hats, paint wall murals and make patterns for blankets. He would sit with the kids drawing-sometimes across the floor and sometimes with chalk on the sidewalk-I believe those were his happiest moments.  Addictions and difficult times of any sort are terrible demons and unfortunately he could not overcome them. He seemed to realize that very young and did the best he could, loved the best way he could and stepped back when he knew he could not be who he really wanted to be.  I truly hope that he is now at peace and those demons chasing him on this side have left and he has found the peace, safety and love he was searching for...eternal peace and happiness be with you . Your artistic abilities live on through Robert and Cherise.
