RONALD EDWARD ADELARD LECLERC

March 3, 1939 – May 1, 2026

Ronald Edward Adelard LeClerc passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, with his family by his side, at the age of 87.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Joan, with whom he shared 66 beautiful years of marriage. He leaves behind his children Laurie (Mike), Randy (Cris), and Pamela (Bill); his sisters Dawn and Fey; and his sister in law Mary. He was a proud grandfather to Cody (Lisa), Tiffannie, Julia (Jesse), Alexandra (Tom), Jordan (Jenna), Brennen (Johanna), and Kyle (Jayne), and a delighted great grandfather to Jacob, Elijah, Isra, Aurora, Arlo, River, Kaden, Morgan and Peter. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ron grew up in Weston, where the small house on Logan Avenue was always full—full of people, full of laughter, and full of love. He spent his youth on the ice and the ball field, playing hockey and baseball with the same enthusiasm he later brought to every part of his life. At 17, he began working at CP Express as a pencil boy, and through hard work and dedication built a long and respected career. After nearly 39 years, he retired as Area Terminal Manager for Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario at the age of 55.

Golf became one of Ron’s greatest joys. He joined Elmhurst Golf & Country Club in 1992 and remained a member for 30 years. There, he made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and shared countless meals, conversations, and cocktails with Joan by his side. Elmhurst was more than a club to him—it was a community.

He was a proud member of the Brooklyn and Weston Legion, Branch #2, for as long as anyone can remember. On Wednesday afternoons, he could be found playing pool with many friends, sharing stories and enjoying their company.

Ron had a wonderful sense of humour and an endless love for a good joke. He delighted in teasing the people he cared about, always ready with a quick remark or a mischievous grin. He adored Elvis, and one of our favourite memories is watching him perform his own version of Blue Suede Shoes—moves and all. He read the newspaper every day, never missed a Jets game, and had strong opinions about their performance this season. He kept CNN on, loved old movies, and cherished every chance to travel with Joan and their friends. Even a simple drive—just to see where the road might take them—brought him joy.

Above all, Ron loved his family. He lit up when the grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit. Though he was a quiet man, his presence was steady, comforting, and deeply felt. His love was constant, and his pride in his family was unmistakable.

We know that our father is now in your loving care and that he is at peace in your presence we pray that you would fill us with your grace and comfort as we navigate this new reality without him. Help us to find joy in the memories that we have and to honor his legacy by living our lives to the fullest, we thank you for the gift of our father and for the time that we were able to spend with him on earth. We pray that you bless us with the strength to move forward with gratitude and joy as we celebrate his life and all that he meant to us.

We love you, Dad.

You will always be with us,

held gently in our hearts.

A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church 315 Munroe Ave, Winnipeg MB R2K 1H2.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the 4th Floor North staff at Grace Hospital for the kindness and compassion you showed our dad during his final 12 days. We also want to thank the caring staff at River Ridge Retirement Residence, home care staff especially Teresa, Angelo and Mike. We are truly thankful to have been supported by such wonderful people.
