Irene Lee

IRENE LEE
(née Pang)
November 14, 1941 – March 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Irene Lee (née Pang) on March 5, 2026 in Winnipeg, Manitoba from Parkinson’s disease. Irene was 84.
Irene is predeceased by her husband, Jim; her parents, Dorothy and Lang; and her brother, Reg. She is survived by her children, Chris, Jamie (Joy), Neil, and Kerri (Tim); her other siblings, Marilyn, Bruce (Judy), and Cynthia; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Jordan), Alec, Owen, Spencer, and William; and her nephew and niece, Garret (Lisa) and Kyra (Rick),
Irene was a kind, soft-spoken, and tender hearted person who loved to knit, sew, bake, and read. It was rare to find Irene without a book in hand, as she was a voracious reader. Her intelligence was understated but unmistakable, and it led her to an education and career as a bookkeeper and accountant, which she enjoyed.
Throughout all of this, Irene dedicated her life in service of others – first her children, and then her dog Cleo and husband Jim as they grew old together. She worked hard to create a stable home for the ones she loved, and we were grateful for it, and for her.
The family would like to give our thanks to the nurses, nurses aids, and doctors at Misericordia Place. We are deeply grateful for their compassion, care, and empathy. They treated Irene like she was family.
Viewing and cremation was on March 11, 2026. Her burial will be in the late spring or early summer, when it is sunny and warm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, at:

Special thanks to the staff at Ethical Death Care for providing their service with such sympathy and sensitivity.

My condolences to all of you . Mrs. Lee and the Lee family are part of some great childhood memories from the time we lived on Tulane Bay.
