JEANETTE BEATRICE LEVEQUE

(née) Gregoire

Mom was predeceased by her parents Lucien and Aline Gregoire. And her brothers Edouard and Guy and sister Doris. She is survived by her sister Diane.

Mom was also predeceased by her husband Paul and daughter Arna-Leigh.

She is survived by her children sons, Daniel and Adam (Michelle), and daughter Michelle (Scott). And bonus son James (Tammi).

Mom is also survived by her numerous grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister in law Bonnie (Peter) and survives by brother in law Steve (Joanie), and sister in law Pat.

Mom enjoyed life. And had many different hobbies. She loved wood working and making things for her family and friends.

Even though she was allergic to wasps she would spend summers enjoying listening to her kids and grandkids playing in the pool. She believed it was worth the chance.

Mom and dad were long life friends who found love in each other. They were married in 1988 in mom's childhood backyard. They enjoyed many great years together. Till dad got sick and passed away. Mom had to learn to live alone after 32 years of marriage.

Mom had to learn to live life without her soulmate, her partner in crime.

Mom had friends who made sure they checked in and enjoyed coffee with her. Mom also had her sisters, Auntie Diane and Auntie Joanie to be her new partners in crime and ladies to laugh with.

Mom eventually found someone to spend time with who made her laugh some more, open her heart to and enjoy life with. Larry and mom were just starting to make their own memories, and be each other's person. We are greatful for the happiness Larry brought our mom.

Mom had a full life and we know she would want everyone to be happy, and live life to the fullest.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 603 Wellington Crescent (Unitarian Church).

Jeannette’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

The lady we call, mom, mommie, ma, oma and to some Jennie or Jeanette.

Jeanette grew up in a family of 5 kids out of the 5 Jeannette was the oldest. She spent her childhood years in Transcona. Having many friends, but her closet friend since childhood Paul Melanson and Jeannette stayed thick as thieves.

Jeannette later welcomed her 2 beautiful children Daniel and Arna-Leigh. Jeannette loved being a mother to her 2 children. She reconnected with a long time friend, Paul Leveque. Fast forward 10yrs and they fell in love. Paul brought with him his 2 children Adam and Michelle. Jeannette welcomed them with open arms. Paul and Jeannette made a life with the 4 kids and remained in Elmwood for a few years. Then they chose to move away from the city and moved their family to Winnipeg Beach. During these years there were many memories made. Jeannette and Paul welcome many of the kids friends into their home and treated them like their own. James Cameron and Lawrence Kibsey were loved a much as their own.

All of Jeannette and Paul's kids spouses where welcome with open arms. Adam's wife Michelle, Michelle's husband Scott, James' wife Tammi, and Lawrence's wife Kim.

Eventually their children started making Jeannette an Oma.

Oma loved her grandbabies. Briane, Tanner, Cameron,Jordan, Cody Allison, Blake, Paris, Ethan,Madisyn, Paris, and Ethan, Curtis, and Cooper. Jeannette also acquired other bonus grandchildren over the years.

Paul and Jeannette installed a pool in their backyard so they could enjoy family BBQs and pool parties.

Jeannette eventually started an annual ladies only pool parties. Apparently they were epic, and kind of like Vegas. "What happens at the pool stays at the pool".

Jeannette's favorite holiday was Christmas. No tree was big enough for her home. Jeannette loved the smell of a real tree. Even one falling over didn't stop her from achieving the best. She just learnt to have it secured to the wall.

Jeannette would be busy baking all the Christmas goodies. Jeannette enjoyed baking for her family and friends.

Jeannette suffered a great loss in 2019 when her daughter Arna-Leigh died suddenly. While also taking care of her sick husband.

When Jeannette's husband got sick she stuck by his side. From learning how to set up a feeding tube to playing nurse maid and learning to make an occupied bed. Jeannette stood by and made sure her husband's wishes were met and never complained. During this time she got to know some of her husband's friends as they wanted to be there for her. Ron and Bev would visit as much as they could to make sure Jeannette never felt alone after her husband's passing. They become great friends.

Jeannette started trying to get out and live life, like she had promised her husband.

She started going out for lunches with her sister Diane, and her sister in law Joanie. They also had Bonnie a bonus sister to their crazy lunches. Jeannette also has many nieces and nephews, there were a few that made the effort to visit or just drop a quick hello. A few to mention are Stormy, Retha and Wendy. Wendy made Jeannette's day when she included her on her special day when she was to wed her husband Albert. Jeannette was honor to be included.

Jeannette even decided to give companionship a chance again. She and Larry Franks both connected and understood each other by having walked the same mile. They were having a great time together. They were enjoying to have someone special to laugh with and to love. Larry brought the spark to Jeannette that had fizzled out for a long time.

Jeannette made everlasting memories with her sisters, her grandbabies, and her children.

You will be truly missed Mom, Oma, Jennie, Jeannette.

Sis. Country Mouse 🐭. you will be missed. You started a Birthday trend amongst the gals that will go on forever. You had the staff laughing and called us all a hoot 😊 you left party favours with children nearby (with the ok of the parents)! We got the thumbs up & smiles. You knew how to light up a room and make all nearby say... I want to be them when I get old 😊 You were so looking forward to Yours in May. You already choose the place.
