Brian Litton
BRIAN KEITH LITTON
October 10, 1945 – September 26, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Keith Litton on September 26, 2024.
Brian was born on October 10, 1945 in Treherne, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Margaret Litton; his sister Peggy (Smart); and his brothers, Ken and Lloyd.
Brian leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Joyce; and his children, Stacey (Roger Labossiere) and Ryan (Alissa Clark); and his grandchildren whom he adored: Ashton Labossiere, Ryden Labossiere, Ayla Litton, Mackenzie Clark, and Jackson Clark. Also left behind are his sisters, Audrey Hooey (Stuart), Marion Bowles, Gwen Marlatt (John), and Dorothy Brooking (Barrie); and Joyce's brother Vic Sowany; and several nieces and nephews.
Brian grew up on the family farm in Rathwell. He left home at the young age of 16, moved to Winnipeg and began working in construction.
Brian and Joyce met in Winnipeg in 1966, where they dated for five years before getting married on September 4, 1971. They welcomed Stacey in 1974 and Ryan shortly thereafter in 1976. As a family they enjoyed camping and shared a passion for card games – at least until losing meant an early bedtime for the kids…
Brian’s construction career spanned decades. Through the years he worked for BA Construction, CJ Construction, and at one point even branched out on his own with Metric Construction.
While he loved his career in construction, Brian and Joyce found their true calling together when they opened a World of Water franchise in the heart of St. Boniface in 1993 – a franchise that Stacey and Ryan continue to own and operate to this day.
When they retired in 2008, Brian and Joyce purchased a motorhome and spent several years travelling all across Canada, and the United States, including Alaska.
Brian loved many things in life, but he absolutely adored his grandkids. He loved nothing more than watching them do the things they love, from dance recitals to hockey rinks to gyms to watch volleyball. He loved taking them downhill skiing – something he did well into his 70’s!
Brian also loved being outside and always took pride in his immaculately-maintained yard and his massive garden. He could often be found watering, planting, harvesting fruits and vegetables from his garden, or tinkering with the motorhome. At the end of the day, he could often be found enjoying a cold Standard on the deck with Joyce by the fire.
Brian will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Rossmere Golf and Country Club, 925 Watt Street.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
Brian’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

So sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I just found out. Memories of Brian are when my family would visit Harold and Margaret in Rathwell and we would play with Brian and Dorothy.

Doreen and I were very sorry to hear of Brian's passing. I grew up with Brian and attended the same school. At one point in time Brian and I lived together on Marion st. And worked for Malgrem manufacturing also on Marion St. We live there during the 1966 snow storm. In the passed few years the only time we got together was at funerals and weddings.
We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Joyce and family and also to the rest of the Litton family.
RIP Brian

It is with our hearts full of sorrow that we honor our friend Brian and his lasting impact on us. His dedication to his family and friends knew no bounds. He was quick to lend a hand and someone you could always count on when you needed help. Brian and Joyce’s roles as host and hostess were beyond compare and we count ourselves very lucky to have been welcomed into their home on many occasions to enjoy their delicious food, wonderful company and have a lot of laughs. He was a special friend and we will miss him terribly. We offer our deepest condolences to Joyce, Stacey, Roger, Ryan, Alissa and their families and thank them for allowing us to share in Brian’s incredible journey.

As a kid, I remember this guy & his family at the "Litton Gatherings" in Rathwell at Aunt Margaret & Uncle Harold's. The old wood stove, homemade buns, food galore, laughter and drinks galore. The house was full till the wee hours in the night. Years later, I was so honoured when Brian & Joyce tracked us down in South Texas on one of their many tours in their motorhome. There was no wood stove or homemade buns, but we sure had laughter, food & drinks galore. We have never lost contact since. Thanks for doing that Brian & Joyce, you gave us some great memories that we will always cherish.

I had the privilege of spending a good amount time with Brian b/c of my close friendship with Ryan. Brian was always happy, cracking jokes and overall being a real pleasure to be around. He was a real gentleman and I am better for having the pleasure of knowing him.
