Signe Llewellyn

SIGNE SHARON LLEWELLYN
(née McLellan)
August 12, 1944 – January 23, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Signe, on January 23, 2026. At the age of 81, she left us to be with her Lord. Signe was the foundation of our family—her strength, love, and generosity touched us all. She brought warmth to every room and faced life’s challenges with quiet resilience.
Signe is predeceased by her husband, Gerry Llewellyn. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Curtis, Kimberly, and Glenn. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Garrett (Lindsay), Shaundra (Matt), Klarissa (Joel), Triss (Jacob), Justus (Faith), Evan, Cordell (Alika), and Corbin—as well as her great-grandchildren, Maddox and Maeve. Signe is also survived by her brother-in-law Bill Llewellyn, sisters-in-law Gerda Llewellyn and Eleanor McLellan, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The youngest of five children, Signe met Gerry, the love of her life, in junior high. They married on May 4, 1962, and soon began their family. After the birth of their daughter Kimberly, Signe devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mom, nurturing her family with unwavering care and affection.
In August 1983, Signe and Gerry purchased a summer home in Ingolf, Ontario. In the early years, Glenn and Signe spent much of their summer at the lake, while Gerry and the other children would join them whenever possible. Signe maintained order at the cottage, always ensuring everyone was well-fed and cared for, creating cherished memories for all.
Signe embraced new interests, learning to play tennis, curling, and golf—activities she often enjoyed with Gerry and friends. She was also passionate about crafts, from knitting and painting to collaborating with Gerry on woodworking projects. Signe’s creative touch was evident in the Christmas decorations she and Gerry designed and gifted to family at Christmas Eve gatherings, treasured keepsakes passed down through generations.
Signe’s love and generosity will be deeply missed. We will carry her memory in our hearts, cherishing the moments and lessons she shared with us.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Signe.

On behalf of my mom Marlene we send our condolences to you. Mom had the privilege of Signe's friendship at Bergen Gardens. They sat together at meals . My mom will really miss her. She was always so kind and made sure mom heard what was said around the table due to my mom's poor hearing. Your mom was lovely and I always enjoyed chatting with her. We pray God's comfort and peace as you grieve and share memories of your mom.

Your memory, and Uncle Gerry’s, will live on in me, from babysitting me out at Ingolf, to friendly card games, to your wonderfully packed christmas parties. Auntie Signe, your love touched so many lives, including mine, and you will be deeply missed.

Dear Signe, you will be dearly missed by our whole family. We have been good friends for many years and had many enjoyable years of good friendship. Holidays in Florida, baseball games with our expert Gerry and curling together. You both have left us too soon. We send our love to Kim and the entire Llewellyn family.

To Kim and family. Tim and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was a very kind, sweet lady. We always looked forward to the Birdsell gatherings to visit with your mom and dad. They were always so friendly and easy to talk to. We will forever cherish the beautiful wood carvings we received from them at Christmas time. Our deepest condolence.
