EDWARD ANDREW LOISELLE

November 29, 1930 – August 12, 2022

On Friday, August 12, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away in St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 91.

He will be deeply missed and remembered by his cherished wife of 65 years, Elisabeth, his eldest daughter Lisa Campbell (Rudy Hajer, deceased), their children Jesse Hajer (Larissa Ashdown-Hajer) and Heidi Boon (Jeremy); son John (Monique Kirouac), and daughters Sherisse (Patrick Matte) and Leslee Sylvestre (Serge) with mother Cynthia Loiselle (deceased); daughter Amy and her son Kieran Kelly; and youngest son Erich (Lovisa). Edward also felt blessed with his 11 great-grandchildren.

His love of family was combined with his long career in the Norwood School Division as a teacher, vice-principal, and principal. A special part of this was meeting wife Elisabeth while teaching together at Archwood School. With her, he shared his many interests such as travel, movies, literature, card games, and enjoying Manitoba parks and beaches.

The family appreciates the dedicated care provided to Edward by the medical and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital 5A.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Siloam Mission.

Edward's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Ed was my first vice principal when I started teaching in 1963.  What a great team to start with.  He and Mr. Alley gave this scared, young girl the confidence to succeed.  Many good memories of my two years at Archwood.  I still use the cheesecake and Cole slaw recipes he brought to school after we had tasted them at school get togethers.  Thanks Elizabeth.  May God surround your family with comfort and memories.  Wendy (George) Paton.

Mr. Loiselle was my Grade 9 teacher and principal of Nordale Annex school in 1967 - 1968. I remember him as a very kind and nice person and a great teacher. My sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.

I remember Mr. Loiselle singing in the car on the way to Grand Beach. He liked folk music. I was always so excited to be invited on these Loiselle family trips. It meant a lot to me then, and now. I hope you will find solace in happy memories too.

I will be forever thankful to Ed and the departed Lorne Ferley for hiring me to work at King George and Archwood schools in the winter of 1981. I was teaching music and commuting daily to Grunthal, near the U. S. border. Ed was a kind and thoughtful principal who always considered the welfare of the students and staff. We knew each other through Lisa, a classmate growing up in Windsor Park and with whom we attended St. Bernadette’s . Condolences to Elizabeth,Lisa and family.

So sad to hear this. Mr Loiselle was the principal at King George V when I attended. He then taught me English at Nelson Mac in Grade 10. I will be forever thankful to him for the introduction to John Wyndham's Chrystalis, and looking to the words in music for poetry.  I am sorry for your loss
