BRENDEN MacFIE

November 17, 1990 - November 13, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenden MacFie, announces his passing on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 29 years.

Brenden will be lovingly remembered by his son, Ashton; mother, Lana; father, Lee; brothers Kyle (Hunter) and Tanner; sister, Nikki-Rae (Adam); maternal grandparents Iris and Wayne; paternal grandfather, Bernie; as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Theresa and paternal grandfather. Gerald.

Brenden was a Flin Flon boy, born and raised. He loved to hang out with friends, but it was also cool to spend time with his grandparents. Brenden was known for the mischievous twinkle in his eye, his infectious laugh, and his kind and compassionate spirit. There were many adventures, or should one say “misadventures”, in which Brenden was usually accompanied by at least one of his siblings. His family would like to say Nikki was innocent in the shenanigans, but she was usually in there somewhere. They were a tight knit group, and nothing was off limits in the pursuit of a laugh.

Brenden was almost always the most fun person at a gathering. He was an avid lover of music and all things pickled. Obviously, he took fashion cues from no one, as demonstrated by his garish outfits (just ask Grandpa Wayne). Although he hated needles, porridge, basketball, and anyone tougher than him. He loved the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Washington Football Team (formally the Redskins), the Ottawa Senators, the Flin Flon Jr. Bombers, UFC fighting, camping, fishing, swimming, cliff-jumping, hats, shoes, shades, oysters, olives, and flexing his muscles.

Everyone remembering Brenden will do so in their own way. If he owes you a beer, you can find him in heaven. He will gladly allow you to buy him another.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Brenden's life will be held when it is possible to gather. In the meantime, Brenden’s family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

When I leave you don’t weep for me.

Pass the wine around and remember

How my laughing pleased you.

Look at one another, smiling,

And don’t forget about touching.

Sing the songs that I loved best

And dance on time all together.

As for me, I’ll be off, running

Somewhere on the beach, and I’ll fly

To the top of the tree I always meant to climb,

When you’re ready, I’ll be there -

Waiting for you

Take your time.

You left us before we got to know each other better! So when WE meet again, YOU'RE buying young man!😘 We didn't know each other very well but I think I know you better than you might think. Here's what I know about you...I know you were kindhearted. You thought of others  a lot of times before thinking of yourself. You were happy when people you loved were happy especially if their happiness was because of something you did. You were unique, outrageous at times, loved, loved, loved music and were funny and witty as hell with just a bit of cockiness mixed in to keep everyone on there toes! You were real, down to earth; were you and NEVER apologized for it! That is awesomeness to the fullest. You loved nature and all it has to offer in any season. You loved your family and friends with all your heart and soul and they all, each and every single one of them loved you back twice as much. You were very protective of your family and didn't take anyone's shit. You loved to wear clothes that matched your mood and you didn't mind shocking people one bit! Lol! You were funny and had a great sense of humor. You were brave and strong and people who knew you admired you for it. A lot of people can and have learned how to be a good person because you showed them how. I also know that your Uncle Miles and your cousins loved you very much and are proud of you.  You fought demons that were stronger than anyone realized and you didn't say anything because you didn't want people to hurt because of you. You didnt want people to worry about you. That says so much about you right there. But how do I know so much about you, because I've seen the posts people have written and the pictures people have taken of you. I've seen the video of your birthday party your friends and family put together. People that didn't even know you personally were driving by. If only you knew how much you were loved and what you meant to so many people. If only you knew the impact you had on our little town. If you didn't see it before, I hope you are watching and can see it now.  Someday (in the far off future, we will meet again and have the chance to get to know each other better but until then rest in paradise Brenden.  Love "Auntie" Cory ❤❤❤

My life had changed completely.. I wish you were here to see what I've accomplished... I do it all for you because you always had faith in me and I just want to make you proud! I only wish you were here to see how far I've come. I still struggle everyday with the past and who I am and how our lives were shaped. Everything that I am today is because of how or what you've taught me. I owe you my life but you've already gone and given me yours... you always did have to be first place;) I love you brenden and thank you for all that you've done for me I will never forget it. I will live the rest of my life trying to make you proud and I will look after your intentions the best I can. Forever and ever brother 💙
