Mac MacKenzie

MAC (VANCE) MACKENZIE
1954 - 2025
We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Mac (Vance) MacKenzie on November 4th, 2025 at Riverview Health Centre. Cremation has taken place.
Mac was born on October 24th, 1954 in Summerside, P.E.I. As a young boy, he and his family moved to Hamilton, Ont. where he resided with family members Don, Robert, Russell, Vernon, Joyce, Audrey, Lorne, and grandparents Russell and Florence. From there, Mac moved out west and finally made his way home to Manitoba.
He was predeceased by his mother Joyce; his uncles, Don, Robert, Russell; his grandparents; and his daughter Marilyn. He leaves to mourn his companion Atarrha and her daughters, Julia, Adrienne, and Anna; his beloved son Jesse (Kat); his daughter Stacy and her children; his relatives, Vernon, Audrey, Lorne, Alan; and numerous cousins and friends, in particular, Gord and Dina Long, and John, Esther, and Junia Boopalan.
Mac spent most of his life in the auto repair industry, whether owning his own business, managing shops, or working for others. He was a talented mechanic and “jack of all trades”. From restoring old vehicles to helping friends and neighbours with their car issues, Mac was happiest when he was lending a helping hand. He enjoyed a good game of cribbage or pool, home projects, snuggling up with the dogs, and keeping up with world events.
Mac loved animals and so, donations may be made in Mac’s memory to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter.
To honour Mac’s life, a reception will be held in the Spring of 2026, with details to be added closer to the date.
Mac will be dearly missed.

Such a beautiful soul. He stayed with us for a while in Kamloops and every night he would play tunes on a big black guitar. Will never forget him.
