MONIQUE RENEE MACLEAN

(née LAFRANCE)

February 3, 1958 – October 3, 2023

Sadly, after a long struggle with illness, Monique passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

Monique was born in Winnipeg, to her parents Johnny and Aimee (Mouflier) LaFrance. She is survived by her children Blair and Dana (Joe), all of her grandchildren, siblings Lynne (Al), Pat, Leonard (Sharon), Michelle, Marc (Dorota) and Carol (Don).

She was predeceased by her Parents, Brother-in-laws Darryl Bodnarchuk and Bob Massey

Monique was the second youngest of 7 children. She loved to prepare dishes for family gatherings and also loved to do Christmas baking. Spending time with her grandchildren was very important to her as well. Monique was a fun loving, happy go lucky person that loved all of her family. She was always good for a laugh to brighten your day. She will be truly missed by all of her family and friends.

We want to thank all of the staff at Victoria General Hospital who helped with her care and the support they provided to Monique’s family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of choice.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm-4pm on Thursday October 26 from at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).

So saddened to hear of her passing. We worked together for many years and became fast friends , sharing many good and happy times together. After we retired we kinda lost touch and for that I will always regret.  May she rest in peace. ❤ My deepest condolences to the family.
