CECILE JOSEPHINE
MARIE MARINELLI

(née BELISLE)

November 14, 1948 – April 4, 2023

Sadly we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Cecile Marinelli on April 4, 2023.

She is survived by her four children and their partners; Deanna, Chrissy, Angela (Peter) and Desi (Michelle) and their father Dino Marinelli, along with 10 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her loving partner Charlie Fisher and her parents Paul and Emilia Belisle.

Mom was the women who would have given you the shirt off her back.  She loved her family and friends dearly and always had a smile to share or a joke to tell or opinion to give - wanted or not.  She was genuine with good heart and made friends everywhere she went.  Mom was the person you could be yourself with, quick to a sarcastic comment and some bad jokes at times, her laugh could be heard all around.  As a Grandma, she was there helping out either chauffeuring kids to school and activities or babysitting and spending time with all her grandkids, she enjoyed her time with all the kids.

As a child, the stories we heard were of a fiery independent women who went out and got what she wanted and wasn’t afraid of hard work to get there.  Although the road she travelled wasn’t always easy she did it with strength and an unrelenting attitude.  Her energy was unparalleled, raising four kids, had a full time career and you could still eat off her floors.  “There is no reason not to keep a clean house.”  was something we heard daily.   Anne Murray, Conway Twitty and Jean Shepard to name a few would be on the cassette player while she cleaned the house and danced around.   She enjoyed her music and was one pretty good dancer and singer.

In Mom’s free time she enjoyed bowling, she played in a league for many years, she loved to play bingo and going to the casino.  The casino was a fun meeting place for her and her friends, definitely a favourite pastime.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, the stories that were told when she would get together with her sisters and brother were priceless and the laughs were endless.

Mom we love you so much, you have left a big hole in our lives and we will miss you always.

A small private service will be held in her honour.
