BEVERLY ANN MARTIN

April 30, 1963 - November 17, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Martin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She peacefully departed from this world on November 17, 2023, at age 60, surrounded by the love of her family. She will be lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Tim, daughters Raschelle (Patrick), and Justine (Matthew), grandchildren Anne, Braxton, Blakely, and Noah, and brother Roger (Tina) Fryza, and sisters Carol (Jack) Boyer, and Lynn Roche, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Her parents, John and Edna (Swan) Fryza, predeceased her.

Born on April 30, 1963, in Stonewall, Manitoba, Beverly lived a life filled with compassion, joy and unwavering love. She was a pillar of strength for her family and an inspiration for all who knew her. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to live in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She had a great sense of humour even in the toughest of times.

Beverly graduated from Stonewall Collegiate. After high school, she studied at Red River College and had a successful career as a Senior Insurance Underwriter. Throughout her career, she persevered to improve herself and took several business and insurance courses to enhance her skills. Over the years, she made many work friends and was a mentor for new employees.

She loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted single mom for many years. She loved spending time with Grandma Hazel and family friends at Lake Brereton. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and kept her going in times when she needed strength. Bev found true love with her husband, Tim. Bev and Tim were married in July of 2003. She looked forward to winter getaways with him. Dipping her feet in the ocean, taking long walks on the beach, and adventuring on self-guided excursions. She especially enjoyed treating her family to a trip to Mexico in 2019.

Bev was a dedicated advocate for breast cancer. She fought for awareness, education, and support for those affected by this terrible disease. She was a top fundraiser for CIBC Run for the Cure for a few consecutive years. Beyond her advocacy work, she found comfort and joy in nature. This included walking, hiking and her great love for blueberry picking. Additionally, she was an avid runner who participated in many running events, including six half marathons. She was incredibly proud of the Niverville half marathon that she completed shortly after following the difficult treatments for her first bout of breast cancer.

Faith was very important to her, and she found great solace in Psalm 23 (The Lord is my shepherd). She enjoyed going to Calvary Temple and Oasis Church. She was proud of reading through the entire bible. She instilled the Lord's values and teachings in her daughters and was proud of seeing them live a life where Christianity was foundational to their own family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave Street. A burial service will take place at 11:00 am at Monominto Cemetery. Multiple blood transfusions played a crucial role throughout the many treatments Bev underwent. If you would like to honour her memory, the family kindly requests donations to Canadian Blood Services in her name.

A big thank you to the Health Sciences Centre staff and palliative care team, especially Anna. We appreciate the care and compassion that was provided during her last days.

Beverly's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I was privileged to work best door to Bev. I will always remember our talks and the day she knocked on the back door to tell me she had breast cancer. It was just weeks after we had talked about my breast cancer surgery.  That is when I gave her the bear that she named "Brave Bear". Hopefully it gave you some comfort Bev. You are now at peace and no more suffering. RIP Dear Bev Jan Kudelski

I'm so glad I was able to tell you that your faith was so affirming and was how God wanted us to live our life. I wish we had had more time to spend with each other. Darn Covid got in the way. I will always remember our Tim's visits and how we would advocate for women in the church. You are so precious. Enjoy Heaven and we shall see you soon!

I am sorry to have fallen out of touch with Bev and other high school friends but I was privileged to have her as a close friend at stonewall collegiate, where she was exceptionally beautiful, kind and tons of fun. Love and condolences to her family.

Bev and I instantly connected at work, where she worked as a senior underwriter and I worked in claims. Everyday I would walk over to her desk to hear stories of her girls, growing up, and she heard stories of my boys. Faith was incredibly important to her and I, and it was so wonderful to have that friendship. There were so many times where she and I walked and prayed together on our lunch break. Bev was one of the most courageous woman I have the pleasure of calling my friend. I was privileged to have been able to see her, during her last few weeks, snd I will never forget that conversation or the presence of love in that room. Bev, rest gentle warrior.

Cousin Bev, your warm smile and bubbly laughter resonates decades after you graced our Christmas Eves and had fun at the Roy cottage. Your in heaven now and I am sure Fred welcomed you to enjoy the sun on the boathouse.

Oh sweet Bev, the world has lost an angel.  I have been so fortunate to have you in my life.  A friendship like ours is rare.  Although we haven't spent a great deal of time lately, we are the kind of friends that it doesn't matter.  We could go long periods of time without seeing other and when we would see each other again it was like we just saw each other yesterday.  Friends since grade one.  You are such a special person, a wonderful mother and a beautiful friend.
