Bob was Self-Employed as a successful Manufactures Agent in the Home Entertainment Industry for over 40 years. His successful 27 year Armas Sales Partnership with friend Archie Gagnon was based on trust and a gentleman’s handshake.
Bob was part of the H&H Group (Hardware/House Wares), which is a tightly knit, loosely organization of Sales Reps in Manitoba. The Group organized The “Light up your Life” Gala Ball raising money to support the Manitoba Development Centre. Golf Tournaments and Annual Socials to support various charities. Annual Christmas Lunch to organize collections for the Christmas Cheer Board.
Bob’s passion was his golf! His father introduced him to golf, at a very early age at Pine Ridge Golf Club. He achieved 6 “Holes in One”, 5 of them being at PRGC. He always referred to it as “His Cottage”!
“EVERYBODY LOVES BOB!” was a PRGC slogan used by his golfing buddies. Bob always looked forward to enjoying beers with them on the patio after their round of golf.
“Bob was a class act who loved his life, his family, and his home away from home; Pine Ridge Golf Club. It is hard to imagine a more popular or well thought of person, Bob was loved by all the members and staff of Pine Ridge. His personality was infectious, you just wanted to be in his company, and whether you were a member for 50 years or you worked there for five days, Bob made you feel like you belonged. He was the epitome of what it meant to be a member. Bob's presence at the Club made Pine Ridge a better place.”
Pine Ridge Golf Club will be honouring Bob’s memory in creating a “Bob Massey Scholarship” for the young staff Employees, and the Pine Ridge Members’ Lounge will be named the “Bob Massey Lounge”.
”Deep within each of us is an inner longing to live a life of greatness and contribution – to really matter and make a difference”.
