In Loving Memory of

THERESA “TERRY” LUCILLE MCBRIDE

March 19, 1943 – January 27, 2025

On January 27, 2025, we said goodbye to Terry McBride, the heart of our family and a constant source of love and support. At 81, she left us with a lifetime of cherished memories, lessons in kindness, and an example of what it truly means to care for others. She will be profoundly missed, but her love and compassion will live on in all of us.

Terry was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and spent much of her life living in various towns across Ontario and Manitoba, always staying close to family. Eventually, she settled in Winnipeg, where she was able to be near her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the greatest joy in her life. Terry was the heart of our family - always there with a listening ear, a helping hand, or just to share a story. She adored her great-grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was helping with babysitting, attending dance classes and soccer practices, or simply enjoying time together - she made family her top priority.

Professionally, Terry was an inspiring woman who didn’t let life’s challenges hold her back. She was known for her dedication and unwavering work ethic. She worked in payroll for many years, including at the St. James-Assiniboia School Division, and left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside her. Even after retiring, she couldn’t stop helping whenever she could—she was always ready to step in when needed. The friendships she made through work were some of the most meaningful in her life, and she stayed close to those friends right until the end.

But it wasn’t just work that filled Terry’s heart—her greatest joy came from helping others in all aspects of her life. Whether it was offering a meal to her neighbour, volunteering at Deer Lodge Centre and Grace Hospital, or simply being there for a friend in need, Terry went out of her way to care for those around her. She had a rare gift for making people feel heard, loved, and valued. Her positivity and warmth had a way of lighting up the room, and she never hesitated to show kindness, even in the smallest of ways.

Terry loved simple pleasures: bingo with her friends, quiet coffee dates, and the companionship of her beloved rescue dogs over the years—always having one by her side to keep her company. She brought joy to every conversation, and her love for life and people was evident in everything she did.

Terry’s legacy lives on through her son, Dave Seguin, her granddaughters Danika Seguin (Ryan) and Britney Bauer (Mark), and her cherished great-grandchildren Logan, Elliot, and Alison. She is also survived by her siblings Bill McBride (Cheryl), Candy Nicoll (Dave), Diane Scott (Tom), and George Thomas, along with many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucille Thomas and William McBride.

There will be no formal service, but we will honour Terry by holding her close in our hearts. She will be remembered for her kindness, love, and warmth, which live on in the countless memories she leaves behind. In honour of her giving spirit, we encourage those who wish to pay tribute to her to donate to a charity of their choice or simply lend a helping hand to someone in need—just as she so often did.

I remember Terry, she worked with my mom. They used to have the best giggles and stories. My mom passed a while back I can imagine that they are telling jokes and giggling again together.

Don and I will miss seeing you at Elliot's birthday party's. Having lived away from Winnipeg never saw you much but did enjoy the times we did. Our thoughts go out to Dave and the granddaughters Britney and Danika. They were very close to you and know they will miss you a lot. Rest in peace
