ROY ROBERT MCCRAE

April 21, 1949 – July 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Robert McCrae, who passed away peacefully at the age of 77 surrounded by his family.

Roy will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Marie Anne, and his children: Francine, Joanna [Paul], Cory [Sherry], Scott [Mayling], and Lisa.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Tyler, Brittney, Jordan [Emma], Makenzie [Devin], Kylie, Riley, and Lucas, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren: Nixon, Harper, Lincoln, and Johnathon, who brought him endless pride and joy.

Roy will also be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends, and all whose lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and caring spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humour that could brighten any room and make people laugh. His quick wit and warm smile will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He also leaves behind Cocoa, his beloved puppy, affectionately known as his "favorite child," who brought him companionship, comfort, and countless smiles.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Hussein, Amy, and the dedicated team in the A.C.C.U., for their compassionate care and support.

Roy's love for his family was the foundation of his life, and the memories he created with those he loved will be cherished forever. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, laughter, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Honouring Roy's wishes, no formal service will be held. Those wishing to celebrate his memory are invited to make a donation to a charity that is meaningful to them.

Our condolences to all of you and your families. We are sorry to hear of Roys passing. Although we only met him a few times, it was obvious that he was a very kind hearted man. May your memories bring you comfort during this difficult time.

It's hard to say this but Roy was a BC Lions fan. One last time for Roy. Go Lions.

What a beautiful slideshow in honor and in memory of Roy! He always had a smile, was always kind and stopped by to say 'Hello' when I was working.
