STUART MCDONALD

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother Stuart. at HSC. from the effects of Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.
 
Stuart leaves to mourn his mother Jean; brother Chris; Uncle Bill; cousins, Janice (Vince), Bradley, Scott (Wendy), special family Fausto, Fran (Russell), Oscar, Isaac, and Maury. Predeceased by father Gerry; Grandparents, George and Pauline (Lena), and Harvey and Beryl; Aunt Kay; Uncle George; and cousin Marcy.

Stuart was a gentle caring person who loved talking to people and discuss his beloved Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets.  He faithfully watched all the games he could on TV.  Anything to do with space interested him.  He followed all the characters in Star Trek through the years.
 
As a young person, Stuart enjoyed participating in Beavers, Cubs & Scouts with the 173rd Archwood troupe.  Tony & Allie Eason were the leaders.  Stuart played baseball, curled, swimming lessons, D & D & many video games.  Stuart loved music & took ukulele, guitar & keyboard lessons. 
 
As a family we camped in our house trailer for summer vacation.  Grand Beach & Minnesota camp grounds were favorites.  Stuart enjoyed our trips to Disney World, Vancouver, Maritimes, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Black Hills & Yellowstone. 
 
Stuart graduated from Windsor Park Collegiate & worked for the St Vital Y in their after school daycare system & day camp for children.  The effected of Muscular Dystrophy shortened his ability to continue.
 
Stuart enjoyed playing his collection of Rock & Roll especially the older 1960 songs. His favorite song was Duran, Duran – Hungry like the Wolf.  He looked forward to the sharing of many dinners with Fausto, Fran (Russell),Oscar, Isaac & Maury.  Magic tricks & discussions were fun for Stuart. He watched the boys grow up & become wonderful young people.
 
Stuart exercised in the shallow pool at Bonivital for many years in an effort to keep his muscles as strong as possible.  He enjoyed the  friendship with the “Guys”  who participated. They called him “young fellow”. 
 
As a child he attended Sunday School at Windsor Park United Church. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School for a few years to help the Church.     
 
Stuart brought solace to the family by being able to donate to the Organ Transplant program.
 
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
