Shaun McInnis
SHAUN J. MCINNIS
March 27, 1976 - August 2, 2024
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Shaun James.
Peacefully, while surrounded by his family at his side, Shaun was called home to be with God.
Shaun is survived by his parents (Jim and Christine); son (James); brother and sister-in-law (Bradley and Angela); nieces (Madelyn and Sydney); as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a young boy, Shaun was definitely a free spirit. He made his own rules but lived by none. With his father being in the military, Shaun grew up all over Canada, stretching from the Maritimes to the Prairies. From swimming in the oceans off of Prince Edward Island, to basking in the fields of Alberta. Shaun travelled the country with his family over the years and loved the annual road trips to Garson, Manitoba to visit Oma and Opa.
From his Lego creations, his realistic drawings, to his self-taught web site creations and designs, Shaun was as smart as they come. He naturally excelled at sports and often came in first place during his years playing baseball and hockey.
Shaun was a people person, only second to being a dog lover first.
Shaun wasn’t much for sentimental moments, but he loved his family in his own way. Whether it was helping out around the house, pitching in to lift the heavy stuff, or share his love of rock music with others, Shaun was never one to shy away from lending a hand or spend time with loved ones. He had a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others and was often found dropping off donations of clothing to local shelters.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Jassal, his cardiac team, and all nurses and medical staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Shaun at 3:00pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, located at 570 Sharron Bay South, in Winnipeg, MB.
Shaun’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
